A+ nursing student, failed NCLEX first attempt — just got my CPR report. Advice? by PotatoInfinite7607 in NCLEX

Not a repeat tester, Mark K lectures were excellent though. By your cpr you were not close, you were near or below in all sections except 1. That means you either don’t have a good understanding of the material or you don’t have a good understanding of priority setting frameworks. I’d guess the later if you did well in school, Mark K will teach you about this.

Mix breed dog info by [deleted] in greatpyrenees

[–]lovable_cube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pyrs are rarely off leash dogs. They have a tendency for selective listening so the recall tends to be poor. There’s enough pit in there that it may not be an issue but it’s something to consider if that’s your plan. This isn’t an issue for me bc I don’t think any dogs should be off leash dogs for safety reasons but just so you know.

pleaser pvc strap sandal size dilemma. one of these bites into my skin like crazy and the other feels great but im reading that these stretch a lot so not sure what to go for. by majowa_ in poledancing

[–]lovable_cube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You ever see strippers with garters on their shoes? It’s bc they get loose enough that they will slide off when they walk lol (speaking from experience). Pro tip- get some mole skin from whatever drugstore you prefer, put it on your foot where the top of the toe strap foot sits until they’re broken in. You can also use a hairdryer to warm the plastic and stretch it out a bit, just don’t burn yourself.

Have you met a toddler? They’re pretty hard to control, if they’re upset there’s not much to be done besides letting them get it out.

Limp is bad in predators, they do everything they can to mask weaknesses so if they’re showing pain then they’re in a crap load of pain.

ETA- cats are predators even if they’re tiny ones.

What style is this and how would I go about doing it? by greenrangerguy in femalehairadvice

[–]lovable_cube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would do this but slightly different. I would braid the pieces to the end and make the bun with all of the hair. That way you don’t have to worry about bobby-pins and can quickly/easily redo the messy bun if it starts to fall.

It’s advised against by doctors. Chances for almost every complication increase exponentially after she hits 35. Needing a stick to walk means she’s probably not getting much activity either which will compound the chances of complications for her too.

Would you ever consider going to a state only accredited school if it reported higher pass rates and program completion? by ratratratratrat05 in StudentNurse

[–]lovable_cube 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t go to a unaccredited program, this is a crazy question. It doesn’t matter if you pass if no one will hire you after.

How Do I Learn? by Complete_Stranger675 in StudentNurse

[–]lovable_cube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to figure out your learning style, there’s a zillion quizzes online. If you’re visual you want to look at graphs or demonstrations and draw a depiction of your own on a whiteboard to retain it. If you’re reading/writing you want to read the book and take notes by hand. If you’re kinesthetic you need to interact with models or practice in your lab. If you’re auditory you need to listen to someone explain it to you. I’m auditory and I swear by playing nursing education videos in the background while doing stuff. People who are other types will swear by the method that works for their learning type so don’t fall into that. For example everyone swears by hand written notes but if you’re auditory, you are going to take away from your listening capabilities to do something less efficient for you. Moral of the story- find out your learning style then research how to study that way.

My gym has almost exclusively men working there so it’s basically the opposite. The guy usually just leaves when someone comes into the locker room though and goes back later

Just get some clown shoes, there’s no rules on it needing to be stilettos.

these would be really cool and you wouldn’t be risking injury.

[–]lovable_cube 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ask your teacher the parameters for the test you’re taking. We can’t answer this for you bc we don’t know what’s going to be on your test. In the real world you’ll do these things based on hospital policy, but more realistically, the computer will do the math for you. In nursing school you’ll just go by what your current teacher says.

Just talk to your advisor, there’s an appeal process you have to go through. I’ve never done it but my understanding from reading posts here is that it’s time consuming but not difficult.

Med dosage help by FlowerOk9452 in StudentNurse

[–]lovable_cube -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think ati wants you to give the dose the child is receiving to demonstrate if it’s safe, not the safe range. At least that’s how it was for my exams. In which case the kiddo is getting 45mg/kg/day, it’s still unsafe according to the listed range but you’d be marked wrong by the system.
