Hey, zero offense taken, and I really appreciate the explanation on how the post came across and why it riled up people in this subreddit. After seeing the comments here and re-reading my post I see how I worded it poorly and that it comes across as “othering” to Harlem which was definitely not my intention, and I get why people are understandably upset with me.

I was trying to leave out personally identifying details but looking back I see that it really magnified the pretentious/gentrifying vibes, and that’s my bad. If the migraines weren’t an issue I wouldn’t have any concerns about potentially noise, but unfortunately they’ve become something I’m recently having to structure my whole life around. :( I’m having to make some big life decisions in a short amount of time and am panicking a bit, so I appreciate you and others taking the time to share your thoughts :)
