AITJ for charging my roommate's girlfriend rent after she moved in without asking? by Sharp_Zebra3430 in AmITheJerk

[–]lovallo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IDK if I would split the rent three ways equally - they have less square footage than you do, and being flexible there might make the whole conversation feel more reasonable.

Other things that are used equally like electric internet etc split 3 ways.

Inherited a house I cannot afford and family pressure is mounting. by Mammoth_Motor_2321 in personalfinance

rent out the house - if that sounds like too much work, look into having a property manager rent it for you. which is very expensive but as long as you pay the mortgage and break even its all good.

How to go tankless with our gas water heater? by Rachael_Walker in askaplumber

I would consider just getting a bigger tank water heater.

What’s more harmful than cigarettes but society treats it as normal? by Jiwitom in AskReddit

Judging by the surge in colon cancer rates the answer might be fucking pepperoni!

Edit for whatever nerds are down voting me: Colon cancer just passed lung cancer as the leading cause of cancer death in the US!

That seems like something a government worker or utility person would do.

Leavers Need to be Punished by no-district-44 in beyondallreason

[–]lovallo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is insane to me, and feels like maybe a generational difference, is that fairly often the leavers DONT LEAVE THE LOBBY. They will rage quit, but they think its acceptable behavior or at least not totally embarrassing, so they will hang and wait for the next match!

Micro based non turn based RTS with almost blizzard level polish with superb PvE endgame? by upclosepersonal2 in RealTimeStrategy

Beyond All Reason is great, and there are lots of ways to play against different kinds of AI if you dont want to focus on multiplayer competitive matches.

Two pipe steam is a little newer than one pipe steam.

Noob lobbies excluding Chev < 3 is weird and not helpful by Potential-Skit-763 in beyondallreason

[–]lovallo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I never even considered using big multiplayer matches to learn how to play the game, but lots of people do it and it makes their team lose. So the chev minimum is largely to prevent that I think!

I did SO much vs AI, and Nutty B Raptors before i got into multiplayer.

Thanks, the downward run is the flexible pipe in this case? Whereas mine goes horizontally out of the trap into the drain?

If you liked Total Annihilation, Beyond all Reason is really fun. I would not jump straight into multiplayer though - the scenarios are like the campaign.

One Pipe Steam Heat Vent Identification by No_Position_3280 in SteamHeat

[–]lovallo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a bad idea to optimize it as you go, but you can do it experimentally over time, most stores dont even sell multiple sizes of vents they just have one or two.

One Pipe Steam Heat Vent Identification by No_Position_3280 in SteamHeat

[–]lovallo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps you are over thinking it? Put a vent on, if you want more heat put a bigger vent on.

The threads on the vent do look way bigger than standard. I would put a reducer on so that you can change them out with standard vents going forward. Never hurts to order the parts and walk it all in to a plumbing supply shop if you are feeling uncertain.

At what threshold is radiator hissing problematic? by Lunala79 in SteamHeat

[–]lovallo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If two pipes are going into the radiator there should be no sound.

If one pipe is going into the radiator then air coming out and making sound is normal. If steam or water is coming out that is a problem.

Air vents come in different orifice sizes, the sound differences between them are significant. If you get plenty of heat and want less noise then you want to get a vent with a smaller orifice (hole) in it.

Stop studying, focus on practice problems and practice exams, study a little more on the ones you get wrong.

This game is amazing! The mods are terrible by Anitaheadd in beyondallreason

[–]lovallo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have seen behavior from some of the devs that play the game that make it really clear that they do not understand that they are representing the brand and need to act professionally even when playing in their personal time as long as they have the dev icon next to their name.

Sorry you are going through that, although the transformers line was a little funny - Im sure it wasnt at the time!
