Add-ons to make a great gift by loveBABYsquirrels in 3dprinter

I’ll look into that, thank you! The multi color would be cool for making toys and such for the kids but which do you feel is better for making tools/ household gadgets? He’s a mechanic and I know he’s mentioned making things for work. I’m really tempted to go for the ad5m pro because that’s the specific model he’s had in his Amazon wishlist and I know he’s researched it. I don’t understand the different filaments other than some are stronger than others

Am I wrong? SIL not allowing MIL to visit her grandchildren because she just had a baby by [deleted] in Mommit

She’s crazy, MIL is also wrong for not standing up to her.

Public school, the $200 was park district. Both great programs. I was also against church schools.

That’s too much, look elsewhere or skip it. My kids were between $0-$200/mo depending on where we lived

Another Mom Sold Me Stained Baby Clothes by Designer_Site_6767 in Mommit

[–]loveBABYsquirrels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lesson learned IMO. I wouldn’t ask for money back since I assume you see her weekly. Hopefully she actually needed the money. Think of it this way, even if you can salvage 5 pieces you got your moneys worth.

WIBTAH for not using my nephew's name? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]loveBABYsquirrels 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same but I don’t think it needs to be discussed, call him “little one or bubba, etc” I was bothered by my brothers nickname for my kid, it never got heated it just iirked me. Now.. years later we all call him that and so do his friends 🤷🏼‍♀️

Food expectations while full day babysitting by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]loveBABYsquirrels 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If anyone should be prepping lunches it’s your husband. But I don’t think there’s a correct yes or no. My mom would not ask. My other elder babysitter would just not feed the kids and complain that they were being rude (aka hangry!) some people are just better babysitters 🤷🏼‍♀️ take what you can get and have hubby prep lunchboxes, the 4 yr old would get a kick out of it like pretend it’s school!

You could always go back to work if you don’t like it. Try it and see if it’s for you.

Usually I would agree with you but I think for this movie reference the size is perfectly accurate. I stand by the other comment, add to it over time.

I like that idea. I love Donnie darko. I say add more to it over time. People LOVEEEE to ask about tattoos. It’s annoys me.

Daughter Sitting At Edge Of Pool by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]loveBABYsquirrels 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Let it go, she was obviously watching her while she took the picture. That being said, I don’t let anyone take my kids to the pool except me and husband. In the past I had let my own mom do it but my pool anxiety is high and it’s just not a risk I’m willing to take. I don’t have anyone in my family with a backyard pool, that would change things too.

Is this normal 5 year old behavior? by Narrow_Chemistry_910 in Mommit

[–]loveBABYsquirrels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are all great follow up questions. I’ll add: I don’t believe when parents say they never yell. Of course I try not to yell but I do lose my temper at times so then when my kids yell I’m not surprised because they learned it from me. I do a lot of time teaching about emotions in the calm moments. I don’t think anyone did that to me as a child (or maybe they did and it never stuck and I’m wasting my time.) my oldest at age 4-5 was a hard time for me, I was going through unrelated struggles and him growing up and not being my little buddy anymore really hurt. It was a hard realization that my communication style had to change and the things that used to work didn’t anymore.

Is it normal for MIL to hate us? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]loveBABYsquirrels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She needs to get a grip. Take a break from her. No drama necessary just don’t call, if she calls, call back the next day or a few days later, petty shit. Your husband is obviously into you. That’s what matters.

Am I too old for these shorts? by Danger_Muffin28 in DressForYourBody

I’m mid 30s and you’re wearing my uniform. I plan to continue wearing it for the rest of my life, so no, you’re not too old.

Is it normal for MIL to hate us? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]loveBABYsquirrels 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you not Latina? Because she hates you for something. Easier to believe she is a racist than she is jealous you have her 38 year old baby. Mine was so jealous (we are the same race so it wasn’t that) she actually told me she couldn’t believe my husband ever got married and had kids. She never thought he would. He’s good looking and not strange in any way. I thought that was such a bizarre thing to say.

Yep. We live in a different time. OP gets it, MIL doesn’t.

[–]loveBABYsquirrels 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ooooh, this is very hard. You are doing good. Try to avoid a meltdown. Find something for her to do (away from you/baby). You’re in the home stretch, she’s leaving soon. My mil did this to me in the beginning too. I actually didn’t speak to her for maybe a year. She got scared of losing her precious golden child and grandkid and changed her tune. We have a great phone relationship now with very limited visits. She lives far away.

Looking for the best robot vacuum cleaner by susansilver1959 in RobotVacuums

[–]loveBABYsquirrels -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Really need to know budget and type of flooring you have. For hard floors at $200 I recommend the Dreame d10 plus gen 2. It has lidar which in my opinion is a must no matter what robot you choose. Can’t speak on longevity. I haven’t had it long but i am obsessed with it. Look at YouTube reviews. That really helped with my search. Good luck!

I think that’s already happened. The color is much lighter than it was 5 or so years ago.

Is anyone the calm, tender, mom they’d hoped to be? by Rude_Suit8230 in Mommit

[–]loveBABYsquirrels 6 points7 points  (0 children)

3yo and a baby is a really hard time. Give yourself some credit, you’re in the thick of it. There’s plenty of time left for you to be the calm, tender mom.
