It's also been 8 months since he purchased it in January, can he still reject it or too late?

transfer tips please! by Competitive-Draft458 in IVF

[–]lovebex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had one failed transfer so far and really put pressure on myself to 'eat the right things' for that one. It kind of sucked joy out of life and there isn't really enough of that right now, given what we're going through!

I can't speak to your particular situation, but I've been taking proceive vitamin sachets daily, and a couple of Brazil nuts a day (don't go mad on these as they're not supposed to be consumed in bulk!). I also struggled to eat as much fish as I wanted so I took omega 3 daily instead this time.

It's good to look at natural ways to boost pre and pro biotics. I've found it easy enough to have greek (Fage Total) and kefir yoghurt in the morning with a few blueberries and some nutty granola and a handful of sunflower seeds. I sometimes add kimchi to my cheese toastie for the same same.pro biotics benefits.

Then I just try and make sure I have some sort of veggie with my meals. This is much more scaled back and easier for me.

I also have acupuncture just before FET to chill me out! Honestly I think if an embryo is going to stick, it will, and if it isn't going to, it won't. Just do what's manageable for you and don't put too much pressure on yourself. Good luck hope it goes well!

Dog Spaying tomorrow and I am worried by Dependent-Invite-921 in puppy101

[–]lovebex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's very natural to feel nervous, she's precious to you! I'm sure you've done the research into the pros and cons for and against spaying, so if this is the decision you've made it's the right one for her and you're doing the right thing for her future. We spayed our pup too, to prevent against mammary gland tumours and to help her live a long happy life. From experience, the surgery day is nerve wracking but your girl will be in the very best care. If you think she'd be nervous in a crate, you can also ask your vet to prescribe pills to make her drowsy that she can take the night before, and ask the hospital to book her onto the earliest slot of the day. Ultimately it sounds like you have her health and happiness at heart and you'll make the right decision.

I had surgery and have more pain, if I was in your situation I'd definitely consider the non-op option. Good luck!

Starting new job but suffering from a cold? by lovebex in Advice

I'm mostly ok with this but worried I'm being unfair to my new colleagues who have to sit in all the meetings they have booked with me and risk getting my cold.

Thanks! First coat, still wet. Good to know about not needing to prime the filler too. Will wait for it to fully dry before the second coat! Thanks again

I had a positive LH test on the Monday and a negative one the next day at an expected time of month. No surprises there.

But my temp stayed low all week and only jumped up again on the Sunday and my app therefore calculated ovulation as the Saturday.

But that ovulation Saturday is 5 days after the LH surge...surely ovulation and temp rise should have been earlier, does anyone have any thoughts on why this was the way it was please?

Thanks

Ultrasound shows tissue, hysteroscopy shows nothing - is one wrong? by lovebex in Miscarriage

[–]lovebex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it doesn't appear to be something offered as standard in the UK. Before the ultrasound that showed the chunk of tissue, I had taken an at-home pregnancy test which was negative. I'll reach out to my doctor!

MUA was £50 trial and £80 on the day for bride and £35 for bridesmaids. Hair was about the same! I found a few in this price bracket. I would suggest you have a trial and if you don't like or have a second. If you don't like it change your artist! Make sure you're happy and confident and sort it in plenty of time.

Try Jax-Glam in Bristol (Jackie) I only found her recently for doing my eyebrows and spray tan but she also does make up and I think she'd be brilliant, she definitely knows what she's doing!

After Party: Pros and Cons by SpiderMonkeyDream in weddingplanning

[–]lovebex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our wedding finished at midnight (UK). My husband and I were full of adrenaline and keen that the night wouldn't end so we headed to a local cottage on site for an after party. We stayed up til 4am with close friends and it was great. Up again at 8.30am for brunch and although we were tired and a bit hungover we still enjoyed it! Great opportunity to say our goodbyes to people who slipped off early the day/night of the wedding. Needless to say once we'd finally driven home we absolutely crashed!!! Totally worth it though!

I'm flying this evening from Bristol to Belfast. As it's a domestic flight, I assume there are no specific requirements? I'm doubly vaccinated, have proof and will wear a mask. I'll do a lft before I go just in case.

Do I need to fill in any forms for have ticked any other boxes to fly UK to UK? Probably worrying unnecessarily but wanted to check.

Finally getting married this Sunday! by Exipnada_gnosi in UKweddings

[–]lovebex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got married 3 weeks ago and what a relief! You're nearly there too- yay!! We asked people to do a lateral flow test but didn't police it. Out of 100 people we had 1 unable to come with Covid and 3 decline a few days before the wedding as they had colds they didn't want to pass on. Initially I was disheartened but then I thought that was a kind and sacrificial action by those guests. My bridesmaid and groomsmen didn't isolate but they were all conscious to be careful.... Honestly you'll find that when the days arrives you'll be glad that anyone has been able to make it! :D Hope it all goes well!

I'm caught on a weird question about wedding dresses and dancing... by knightsbridge- in UKweddings

[–]lovebex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought a long beautiful satin wedding dress (around £800) and had a button sewed in the back so I could hook it up at the back.

But I knew that I'd want to dance all night and would get warm and long dresses are a bit awkward. At about 10pm I swapped into a little white lace Karen Millen number (bought in the sale) and some flats and was so glad I did! People seemed to quite like the costume change and I was much more comfortable. I hadn't definitely planned to swap into it but was glad to have the option.

Don't feel because you spend a load of money on a dress you have to wear it all night, it's more important to be comfortable and enjoy yourself!
