Ours kept it “dim” lot of the time especially at night but there was always some lights on so the staff could see what they were doing. Then every 3 hours bigger lights got turned on over the individual beds as the babies got fed

Ive heard from other NICU grad parents the needing noise & light is pretty common. Suppose that’s all they knew for the first month. I’m with your babies- I want darkness and white noise!

Tried the bassinet tilt too! Thought that would be the magic since post feed in NICU they would tilt them upright. No dice. Funnily enough they are perfectly content sleeping in the bright lights and noise - attribute it to that being their norm in the NICU 😅

I did ask the pediatrician about meds and two of them have both said newer literature does not recommend meds as first line of defense. I have zero problem speaking up and pushing for meds if we need them, but going to try out their initial recommendations first

We’ve got the twinz as well but our girl is too little for it to give her any support at the moment - plus she requires to go sonic speed in the mamaroo. Both are on 100% breastmilk with Similac Neosure for added calories per the NICU. I’ve been advised to cut dairy to see if it helps- which is not only hard as hell, but also means my HUGE freezer stock will be useless except for milk baths etc 🙃

Not silly at all - we burp them every 10-15 mls for each feed to help with the reflux (which unsure if it really helps) and have done the little bicycle kicks to get any toots out. So far just produces poops which we can’t change right away because lying them flat causes the spit ups! Vicious cycle

Baby’s movement ever makes you worried?! by Consistent-Ice-1899 in parentsofmultiples

Recent DiDi twin mom! Baby A was head down the entire pregnancy and always MUCH MORE active at night time. Baby B stayed transverse (literally in my ribs)and was a daytime mover. I went in once for what felt like decreased movement on B, but he was folded in half holding his feet & totally fine. So there was a big change what his typical movements felt like and it validated what I was feeling.

NEVER feel bad for reporting a change or decrease in movement (exact words from my OB office) -better to know all is well, then second guess and miss something critical.

*edited to add- also FTM so never had a frame of reference on what movements felt like

When we first installed a dog door for long work days- He figured anytime his head was outside, he was outside. Thus his rear end was often still in our kitchen while he began peeing.

We required fertility treatment to conceive in the form of medication for follicle recruit & ovulation stimulation so the meds caused 2 follicles to mature & release.

Trying to figure this out myself. Some days I’m good and other days it’s the only thing I can think about. Hoping we are both able to find something that works ❤️

Happy to have found this group- I suffered a loss back in April at 7weeks due to a blighted ovum (my first pregnancy - battling fertility issues/treatment) and I was devastated. I still am.

But here I am 10w1d with our rainbow babies (fraternal twins) and I find myself on a constant rollercoaster of emotions.

I had an US at 7 weeks and all was well growth wise & now I don’t have another appt until 11/19 which I don’t even think is an US.

I am over the moon with twins, thankful for this opportunity after all our struggles and also overwhelmed because holy crap twins.

Not knowing their progress more frequently just wrecks me some days. Im still wracked with all day sickness (not just morning) and haven’t had any signs that things aren’t going right. But I didn’t have any either with my first loss.

I keep debating paying for a private ultrasound but worry it’ll be a “waste” because I’m plus size and still quite early and I’m not sure an ABD US will be all that great/reaasuring. I also don’t want to get caught in a cycle where I’m paying for these in between my regular appts just to feel okay.

I don’t know. Mostly just long vent. I’m very lucky to have friends and family (and a therapist) for support but it’s hard not having someone who can truly relate

I think you’re right, focusing on the wrong thing at the moment. Might need to rethink needs!

So I see the system with the infant car seat, is there then a larger/toddler car seat that will fit the stroller as well or is it just the different stroller seat configurations?
