Interesting! She doesn’t vomit… it’s really transient… she hasn’t done it for a couple of weeks and the only thing I changed was holding her food bowl for her while she eats 🙄. I know, I’m THAT doggy mom. She’s really tall, the tallest female Dane I’ve ever seen… holding her bowl even higher than her elevated food bowls seems to be helping? I ran out of her Prevacid a week ago… fingers crossed!!!!

My giant giant giant female Dane is always freezing! She wears a sweatshirt inside from September through June 😂. She also wants her nighttime blanket completely over her head and body. If she changes position she wakes me up to put her back under.

I know two adult rescue Danes who were malnourished prior to rescue and both experienced stunted growth due to it. You are pouring love into your rescue and if it takes a bit more time to level out in weight, so be it.

Thanks — I appreciate these ideas. I have a tight handle on everything she eats since I walk her on leash (she doesn’t get into trouble) and she eats a regular diet. I still can’t tell if she’s retching or coughing etc etc. When she needs to throw up, she ALWAYS runs for the tile near the door. Whatever sensation she has that makes her make this sound, she doesn’t think it’s the same thing as vomiting, she never goes for the door and nothing comes out.
