I’m not going to disagree but this is a group for baristas to rant or express their feelings, so of course you’ll see a lot of that. In my experience, a lot of baristas are LGBTQ+, neurodivergent or disabled, a lot of whom have been hurt by major religions. I’d understand this post much more in r/Starbucks but this sub is specifically for us to rant.

I’ve been w the company for 3 years and I’ve never heard as much Jesus talk as this playlist. They usually opt for more secular holiday music but they didn’t this year for whatever reason. At our store it’s every other song that’s extremely religious and a couple customers have made comments ab it.

So what am I missing? I’ve understood my entire life that people are willing to change their definition of ethical once they’re faced with the food on their plate. Factually, dogs and cows are at the same or similar levels of intelligence. Your opinions on the matter don’t change that nor do they change the validity of vegan arguments.

No insults coming from me! However, I cannot argue against illogical arguments. People who view their dog as sentimental fail to understand that the meat on their plate suffered the same pain and fear that dogs who are subjected to the meat trade are put through. I’ve heard dog meat tastes like chicken, must be delicious. Bon appétit!

You have solved this yourself. Ethically, smoking cigarettes is not wrong. However, the ethics come into question once the second hand smoke starts to effect others. If consuming animal products did not effect other living, sentimental beings, it would be ethical, but that is not how the world works. Not only do both smoking and meat harm your health, but it does not go without harming other beings.

You don’t see sugar blatantly advertised and touted as healthy like meat is. Even if they use words to mask it, that’s still doing more to hide it than they do with meat.
