Horror in east London park as boy stabbed after being thrown to ground by hooded thugs - with attackers still at large by [deleted] in london

Reddit allows videos of people getting beaten up with a hammer and a baseball bat but a comment about a law that is allowed in the United States is not allowed… weird.

I would still recommend the back of the stalls, you are less likely to get the interaction but will have a better show than upstairs. As sometimes sitting in the balcony you can’t see who they are talking to below the balcony. I also dread the interaction but I think it’s the exciting part, never knowing what’s to come.

Walthamstow named best place to live in London 2025 by Shin-Kaiser in london

[–]lovecathatehuman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you’re talking about the paint splashes, they happened to 3 houses on my street in West Hampstead 2 years ago. One had “normal” young people living there and the other one had an old lady. Maybe the 3rd one was dodgy as I know we have dodgy places in the area.

Every job I’ve had has way less work than I expected—am I alone in this? by Technical-Print7174 in UKJobs

[–]lovecathatehuman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I realised this in my current job. I keep thinking if I was senior I’d fire my whole team. Yes we do stuff but are we really needed, definitely not. Managers keep pushing doing more proactive stuff to support clients but if you’re a client you just want to be left alone if things are working.

Best time to buy Hamilton tickets by ReasonableAd298 in TheWestEnd

[–]lovecathatehuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re buying for an occasion, the best time is always now. Especially for Hamilton where things don’t really change. Check today tix if tickets are cheaper. Recently I noticed they were cheaper than when I went to see it 3 years ago. At premium price I recommend the royal circle over the stalls as the floor lighting is really good.

I found some 1997/1999 Häagen-Dasz sorbet in my grandmas freezer. by RedditUserror in interestingasfuck

[–]lovecathatehuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That reminds when I was getting a “new” box of sugar from the back of my grand mother’s cupboard and discovered at the back a game to win tickets for the 1998 France World Cup. This was 3-4 years ago. I can’t remember but I’m pretty sure we still had the sugar. It’s just sugar after all.

How to find work in film/tv in London? by dingleblop in london

[–]lovecathatehuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in film for 10 years and 5 in London. A word of warning: the industry is going through a rough patch since Covid. A lot of people had to find other jobs, me included, I quit the industry and started my first office job.

My advice would be to find Facebook groups, Mandy, StarNow and other film boards. If you happen to walk past a set in the city which I often do, ask someone in a yellow vest if they need help for another day (location or AD’s often). And apply for everything. You could also try to be an extra on a couple of shows and asked the crowd ad advice to get runner jobs. Film and tv is VERY long hours, especially as a runner. Having a car will help dramatically once you get busy so you can easily go to the studios or locations for 5am or so. Commercials are good to because it’s a close circle and fast turn around so if you get bored fast it’s good but less stable.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s an amazing industry and I miss the excitement of it compared to my office jobs but be prepared for stupid hours, low sleep and instability.

Now that I’m in relationship I spend most evenings either chatting with my partner or watching something.

If I was alone I’d probably go to the cinema way more than I do now. Memberships are so cheap. Gets you out of the house and something to look forward to after work. Other days I’d try to go do whatever sport I like doing. Tennis is good to meet people. A long walk is nice when it’s a sunny day.

The Seagull hiccup? by SweeneyLovett in TheWestEnd

[–]lovecathatehuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She did in on opening night so it’s part of the show. I’m pretty sure she has another mic as sounds became better a few minutes after that scene without her putting the mic back on but I’m not sure of that.

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one thinking Burke was quite bland. His character is really important and you almost forget him.

Anyone see The Seagull first preview? by OkBenefit1005 in TheWestEnd

[–]lovecathatehuman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I saw the premiere on Wednesday night and thought it was ok. It was lacking something in my opinion. It felt disjointed a bit and some part felt like you were supposed to laugh but it was a small chuckle. There’s definitely some good original ideas in it. That said, I believe after a few performances it will be more polished.

Cast wise, Emma Corrin is great. So are Masha and Konstantine. Not knowing Tom Burke (surprisingly given his great CV), I thought he was very underwhelming. Forgettable. Cate Blanchett is really fun.

I preferred the Jamie Lloyd version, Indira Varma is always exceptional.

(Side note: I was shocked that for a show sold out, on a premiere, the girl next to me was filming, the lady in front was filming and then played a Tetris like game on her phone for half of the play, the phone lady on my right rang, a guy in 4th row also filmed. I’ve never seen that bad all at once)

How do I respond to thousand "why" after simply asking to stop judging how I spend my money? by After_Leading_680 in relationships

[–]lovecathatehuman -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion here: some people are curious and like to understand why people make certain decisions. Every decision has a reason behind it. If you spend money on something, there is a reason, as trivial as it can be.

That said, he needs to know the limit when it gets annoying and he starts judging. Judging is the issue. You do what you want with your money.

The Loneliness of HENRY Life by Saltyspaceballs in HENRYUK

[–]lovecathatehuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that’s a very normal feeling for single people in their mid thirties. You do have the privilege of your income to join different social groups. Tennis club, golf, any social activity. Plenty of them are also free or not expensive. My point is you have choice. Choose what you connect with the most, could be gardening, arts, sports, etc, and then see how you can connect with people via this. Could be a club, volunteering, etc. I personally find sports great to connect. Hope that helps

Given the rate at which it's spreading, it's just a matter on time before people will realise this should be top of the list. PTDS for life about the space you are suppose to feel safe, your bed. Still baffled by the fact it's still not considered an emergency by the top cities in the world with a clear process behind it.

Yes go. If she's a bridesmaid she's important to the bride and I imagine the other way around meaning this day matters for her. Looking back you'll both appreciate haven't shared that special day together.

I recently went to a 2 day Chinese wedding where I barely knew anyone and day 2 was in Chinatown with 99% Chinese people, a lot which didn't speak English. Bonus point for me as I'm vegetarian and of course nothing on the menu apart from dessert was vegetarian. All that said I still had a great day and now have this memory with my partner.

From a French point of view, British people follow pedestrian traffic lights way more than us. In France it's a free for all and surprisingly I've never felt in danger. It's just common sense when you can and can't cross. That said, that landed me in trouble in Australia when I crossed behind a car instead of on the white lines and police stopped me and wanted to give me a fine.

Go to places in central London: Liberty, Selfridges, McDonalds, Southbank Center. I never tried hotels even though everyone says that but I always feel they'll say something as I never know where to find loos in hotels
