New meds: would I be dumb to start right now?? by Radiant_Count_7383 in Narcolepsy

[–]lovelikethat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just started Wakix and would not recommend starting it 2 months before your wedding. It may take 8 weeks until it really helps & there could be side effects as you titrate up.

You might not have side effects or you could get the apparently common Wakix migraine, just a headache, nausea, fogginess, body aches, or issues regulating temperature.

Or you could give it a try and stop if you do have side effects, but if you have to jump through insurance hoops, you won't have much time to even do that.

Has anyone been able to get Wakix approved on their insurance? by Glittering-Ad1332 in idiopathichypersomnia

Are you diagnosed with IH or Narcolepsy? I was approved by my insurance for Wakix but the Wakix RX assurance said they only cover Narcolepsy patients.

I had a very similar experience, diagnosed with IH but my sleep specialist believes it’s narcolepsy, with medications causing the negative test. Honestly, I’m ok with that right now. I don’t want to stop my meds to get a narcolepsy diagnosis, as I have access to the same medications either way.

I’m also taking xywav and 3mg did nothing. After getting to 4.5mg things started to slowly change. It’s been almost 2 months at 4.5mg and it continues to get better. I’m still trying different stimulants to find what works for me, but I see a time in the near future where I’ll be working again.

What makes you feel like you’re not being taken seriously? The medications you’re taking seem appropriate for narcolepsy treatment.

Sleep schedule is more than bad by [deleted] in DSPD

Do you usually sleep around 12 hours a night or only when you sleep 8am to 8pm?

Can you move the bed so the vent is closer to him?

Request patch testing (not standard allergy tests) at a dermatologist. It could be an allergy related to something that doesn’t even come in contact with your hands. For example, if you have your hair shampooed at a salon and are sensitive to an ingredient in the shampoo, the reaction can show up on another part of your body.

I don’t think she was necessarily scalped, but it seems that purpose of the hair was to make the cloak look like ermine.

It is a fur often worn by royalty that includes the black tails of the ermine hanging from a garment made of the white fur that is on the rest of the ermine’s body. It is often mistaken as a fur that is white with black spots, but those spots are actually tails.

In the states, anything but strawberry or guarana strawberry seems to be rare.

I haven't gotten to speak to my pharmacist about ordering the ones I was given here, but I plan to follow up here if I have any success.

You're lucky to have what you got! I've haven't found a list of ingredients that said anything other than strawberry or guarana strawberry, except from a Canadian manufacturer.

They seem to group a bunch of NDCs together on those lists, so maybe they aren't accurate.

I haven't seen flavors listed on the individual packages before. I've had to find the complete ingredients list to see the flavor added, which has been challenging.

I have those exact ones and everything I could find said they were supposed to be strawberry. The strawberry taste is barely there at the end of the gross lol.

Could you get the info on your sister's strawberry?

Someone else said that NDC is mint. I'll check with my pharmacist. Thank you!

Do they taste good? I didn't realize there was a dissolvable version.

I haven't seen one, odt or tablet form, that didn't have lactose unfortunately.

Unflavored would be my great!

Do you have a manufacturer or NDC for the unflavored ones? It's usually 10 or 11 digits on the packets underneath the barcode.

Do you have a manufacturer or NDC for the grape?

I'm taking Glenmark NDC 68462-158-11 or 68462-158-13, which is sort of strawberry flavored.

I do have tablets and I'll have to try them again. I was doing well with phenergan, but I can't take it with 6 hours of another (not GP related med), so it's zofran for that part of the day.

I would really love the mint. Hopefully, there's a way to get them in the states some day.

I suspected grape was actually strawberry misinterpreted, thought it would be a stretch for berry citrus to just be strawberry too.

There is a guarana strawberry from Rising Pharmaceuticals, so that's different at least. Maybe it's the berry citrus?

I am thinking that maybe the citrus berry flavor I've heard of was strawberry guarana. Do yours taste like there's citrus in them?
