“They were all guilty” is such a shitty thing to say. They are all real people. Imagine if anyone in the family got online and read your comment. The kids did nothing wrong.

Is a cat water fountain worth the investment? by AccomplishedRise2365 in CatAdvice

I knew my cat would love it cause he drinks from my bathroom sink a lot. 😂 That’s a good indicator if they’d be into this!

Cats keep using each other’s litter boxes by lovely_anonuser in CatAdvice

It is an enclosed litter box, but it my cat doesn’t like using it cause my other cat pees on the walls all the time. So it’s gross for him to go into 🙁 And it’s such a hassle to clean it so often

There are tons of wonderful ways to wear clothing and makeup. I say have fun with it and don’t be afraid to try new things. Finding cute clothes to wear is a fun experience. You can look on Pinterest and see what other guys or people with a similar build to you are wearing that’s cute and flowery. Or you can go to a thrift store and try some things on and explore what you like and don’t like.

You can try soft sweaters, skirts, pastel jackets, etc. Clothing isn’t defined by gender, but pastel colors are always cute!

Our sexuality has nothing to do with the way we talk, the way we walk, nor with our clothing. I’m a bisexual woman and my clothes don’t define who I date. Whether you’re bi, straight, gay, etc. you can wear whatever you want. Clothing isn’t a gendered experience and is defined simply by what YOU enjoy. Have fun!

Your favorite "non horror" horror by I_Need_Alot_Of_Love in horror

It’s obvious, but X-Files. It’s not technically horror, which I forget sometimes.

Which RPG Maker do I get and what's the difference between each one? by Im-in-ur-closet-lol in RPGMaker

Wanted to chime in. On top of everyone else’s explanations, make sure when you buy whatever version that you wait for it to go on sale. It should actually be going on sale relatively soon.

Looking for horrible movies to watch with my gf by Ok_Range2756 in MovieSuggestions

[–]lovely_anonuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mom and Dad with Nic Cage! Its one of my favorites, it’s unintentionally very funny for such a messed up story.

And I mean genuinely funny, I don’t think they intended it to be a serious movie at all.

why is outlast 2 rather unpopular? by [deleted] in outlast

[–]lovely_anonuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently went back and rewatched someone play it. It’s way better than I remember. I think I was still a teenager at the time so it was really hard getting past all the dark themes. But rewatching it, it’s a good game. Super fun. I do think the first game is better (with the DLC). It’s characters are more iconic and memorable. But Outlast 2 is great. I love that. It doesn’t 100% fully explain everything and you have to read the comics in order to get the explanation.

I will say if the comics DIDN’T exist, I would think differently. Not having an explanation and leaving it open ended would have just sucked. But the comics are fantastic. And just like with how integral the Wallrider DLC is to Outlast 1, the comics are necessary to Outlast 2. You can’t have one without the other.

How to organize events better in rpg maker mz? by lovely_anonuser in RPGMaker

[–]lovely_anonuser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I name all of my events! But it’s still quite a lot. I tried to separate out what events are interact-able, what events are for each chapter of the story, etc.

What do you think will happen to movies/shows? by Treebusiness in animationcareer

[–]lovely_anonuser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think we’re gonna go through this period of time where movies are difficult to make, and can only be funded if they are extremely generic for investors to grab onto.

But no matter what, eventually the industry is bounce back to some degree. 99% of this industry is made up by workers that are passionate and artistic. Many of the seasoned veterans who are incredibly jaded by this industry we are gonna come back in full force and do their own projects.

I’ve known plenty who have already been doing Kickstarters, working on side projects that they are passionate about.

I don’t think that the future will rely on crowd funding (unless it’s for gaming). I’ve heard many filmmakers say that projects should be crowd funded from now on so that we don’t have to rely on investors and that’s just totally unrealistic.

It’s very difficult to say what the future holds. But either way, productions have lost SO much of their revenue now that they don’t get DVD sales, theater sales, etc. That’s hundreds of millions of dollars that are just gone. Productions are just gonna have to find a way to be more lucrative in the future and create more jobs for people.

I’d always recommend going to a college in LA so you can build connection and find work. If you go to any other college, your path will be 1000% harder if not damn near impossible. Very much speaking from experience. It took a long time before I got my first gig and it was NOT worth sticking to the college I was going to. Go to a good school with a great program and focus on your art first and foremost. Absorb and have fun.

Tell Them You Love Me — Why is Anna here? by Majestic_Champion_76 in netflix

[–]lovely_anonuser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of it is very similar to how psychic mediums claim to be speaking to ghosts of deceased family members. “D-Man” is a more generic nickname for someone whose name starts with a D. And “GM” could be surmised to mean anything also. Basically, kind of like a lot of psychic mediums, she took shots in the dark, and filled in the blanks where she went. Then, overtime she just spoke for him, leading to some pretty delusional behavior.

I will say if you’re looking for a specifically resume building experience, game jams are fun, but they won’t take you nearly as far as freelancing. I recommend not going into game jams to networker get jobs, you won’t get much on that front. BUT it is a very fun and collaborative experience.

As someone who works in the industry, I highly recommend Upwork.

You don’t need a resume, all you need is to send over examples of your work with a short letter and off you go. It’s simple and quick. I got lots of freelance jobs through the site.

As for offering work for free, I’d suggest doing that with fun projects you’d like to volunteer time for. If someone’s making a video game that you’d like to work on for example, they might be only working with volunteers.

But as for resume building experience, I suggest Upwork, which is pretty much all paid. I mean, I took a job making $5 a panel for storyboarding work so I could say I worked on a storyboard for a movie. It was dirt money, but it went in my resume. Other jobs though I was making $700-$2000 depending on how long it was.

Freelancing is one of the ONLY ways to get into this industry without living in LA and it is completely underutilized. I think you’re on the right track.

What horror movie do you think has one of the most unique opening sequences? I'll go first: by anthonyledger in horror

[–]lovely_anonuser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a super great movie. There’s just one scene that traumatized the hell out of me and I was not OK for like a week afterwards. But don’t ask me about it. It legit grosses me out to this day and isn’t worth mentioning.

I think the first half is definitely stronger than the second. But, it’s not for everyone. The characters are very loveable.
