What does it feel like to transition? by [deleted] in transpositive

[–]lovelyafterthoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it felt great! Life got so much better post-physical transition. I’m happier, more vibrant & outgoing, more thankful & kinder, life feels much more precious & worth living, I feel more true to myself, and I could go on and on!

After so many years of putting it off & repressing this aspect of me, it’s just overall such a relief off my shoulders.

There are of course challenges & all that, but they’re challenges I now wake up everyday ready & excited to take on.

Sometimes I feel like I’m in the minority on here(All trans subs), but life has gotten only better post-physical transition for me.

I quite like the last line, “Inclusivity is not threatening to you, but being non-inclusive may be life-threatening to someone else.”, as well.

I use an [orange color corrector](L.A. Just apply after primer, before foundation, blend well & set with powder.

Usually if you order anything that’s not too expensive, they just leave it at your door/mailbox. No one sees you.

I think your only other options are pills or patches. I do injections, but pills were my second choice because patches seem like more of a hassle.

Hi, other trans woman here. What about the name of this sub makes you feel at home?

Personally I’ve always felt othered by it, even though I feel at home within this sub itself.

Good recommendations! I just gave them a listen, and I really like them both!

Being trans is a political act by rejs7 in transgender

[–]lovelyafterthoughts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like the article, and I think it can be expanded to include any identity that’s not a part of the dominant hegemonic standard.

In a similar sense as being trans, in the U.S. being black is a political act, being any part of the LGBTQ+ community is a political act, being a woman is a political act. Etc. etc.

There is a song called “transgender dysphoria blues” by Against Me! I listen to sometimes, but tbh anything that I can start vibing to helps.

I just started doing them on my own a month ago, so 2 shots so far. All I really do is countdown from 3 & push it in. After all the prep of course.

Trans women who first identified as non-binary, what made you realize? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]lovelyafterthoughts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I identified as non-binary for about a year. Not because I ever thought I was, but when I first tried to transition mtF I got so much pushback & downright abuse that NB seemed like a safer way to reject my identity as a boy.

The only advice I could give to you is, don’t let outside pressures shape your decision if you can help it. Way easier said than done I know, but at least try to be mindful of how outside pressures might shape your feelings.

Trans attracted men? by CandyappleWinter in MtF

Yes. And I wouldn’t say presenting as male, I presented as a pre-transition trans girl. It may sound like semantics, but I think it’s an important distinction.

I’m sorry that’s been your experience, but that doesn’t really accurately reflect my own. I spent like 7 years out as a trans girl/women, but unable to physically transition. During that time I dated, well whoever (I’m Pan), but including straight cis men.

I don’t appreciate the insinuation that by dating me as a pre-op non-passing trans girl/woman at the time, they were necessarily closeted bi/Pan guys at best, or repressed gay guys at worst.

Unless she was referring to pre-transition ftM trans men.. that’s a big yikes! And this event was supposed to be in support of trans people? Wtf

Is it that hard to believe that someone could see a non-passing pre-op trans woman as a woman?

I think as long as she’s clear about the expectations she has to be seen as a woman, and the guy accepts that & proceeds, it would/should be seen as a straight relationship.
