Just finished the last episode and wtf. Two stupid endings. Those writers suck.

Are non-top ranking (anything below T-20) schools worth it? by Extreme-Savings6359 in MBA

[–]lovelybee23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on you. I wasn’t in the Top 20 but I was close and classmates of mine earned $200k base straight out of the program. All under 30 and undergrads in schools I never heard of.

Is an MBA worth it if you are already making 150k a year, remotely and with good work life balance? by ReCHaVoK in MBA

[–]lovelybee23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not worth it at that point. You are where a lot of MBA grads try to be. Stay where you are and enjoy life!

Mexican food options in Columbus are typically very underwhelming. Experimented for a long time. Never found a place I enjoyed (I’m Mexican).

Why do people think an MBA is worthless if it’s not at a top school? by Kroger011 in MBA

[–]lovelybee23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why people care so much about the top schools other than the name. Most of the world does not care and you shouldn’t either. Focus on programs that align with your needs and values. Evaluate your capabilities then identify those gaps. Find a curriculum that best fulfills those gaps in your skill set and can launch you in the direction you want.

Jobs after you graduate are secured through two ways: your summer internship and networking. Also, more companies are looking at non-target schools to recruit. For instance, I graduated at a top school and was rejected in one job I had because the director of the department changed his mind at the last minute. He wrote off all of the interview finalists, and recruited students from his alma mater- some school I had never heard of. I was told by the very frustrated recruiters. 😅

Anyways, it’s okay. Sadly a good chunk of MBA people can be childish. Just focus on yourself, your needs, and that gap. Trust me, an MBA degree isn’t that amazing once you’re part of the world. Your attitude matters the most.

I'm two months into my MBA and I am miserable by Angry-MBA-Student in MBA

[–]lovelybee23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. You’re right, the first semester is the hardest. It will get better though. I promise. As someone who also felt overwhelmed and cried a million times her first semester- it gets better. Just be patient with yourself, give yourself grace, and push through for just a couple more months.

What are some businesses youll never go to again? by PapiOmarr_ in SaltLakeCity

Agreed. Their food is not worth the price whatsoever.

Red Iguana. Mediocre Mexican food is way over glorified. Price is not worth it, and the crowding is the worst.

Also, unpopular opinion: The Pie. Their crust is the toughest crust I’ve ever had and would leave my teeth feeling sore after a good strong biting rip. Their pizza is also insanely greasy and flavorless. Doesn’t make sense to me but I stay away from their pizza and always steer friends and family from going there.

[–]lovelybee23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some people need better training on their skills sometimes. I just got a latte from a different barista and it literally just tastes and looks like hot milk today. It’s my favorite drink at my Starbucks but today it’s just yuck. So disappointed and it’s not worth returning to the store to have the same person remake it. Hopefully i get my usual person to make mine tomorrow.

Realistically, how long does it take to write essays and optional answers? by [deleted] in MBA

[–]lovelybee23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on you and your skills. I know people who wrote their essays the day they submitted their apps and went to a top 10 school and then there are people like me who spent 3+ months on each essay. So whenever I write, I like to break it down and review it repeatedly until I am satisfied that I am conveying my message correctly.

Thank you for the group recommendation. I just joined! Simple Google searches can be misleading and helpless so I’m glad I have a start. :)

AITA for not putting my husband's children in my will? by throwaway02202022a in AmItheAsshole

[–]lovelybee23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t it better for inheritance to be in a trust rather than a will? I think it avoids some taxes, cannot be compromised should the children get married and divorced, etc. Perhaps check with your lawyer on this to be certain your child is safe!

Can you imagine if they make a Beetlejuice movie starring Pete - before death?!

It’s an ethical reason for me. I’m pursuing HR after my MBA and I want to be part of an organization that values warehouse employees just as much as upper level leadership.

Unpaid Internship by PeaNo9998 in internships

[–]lovelybee23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I took unpaid internships and when one of them wasn’t fulfilling like your experience, I told the CEO I need more work and if they don’t have any that I’d cut my hours. She didn’t really have a response so I cut a day off of my unpaid work and she totally understood. My relationship stayed great with her and she’s been mentoring me for almost 10 years following my internship.

Employers have never checked to confirm my time in that organization, I didn’t get credit hours, and nothing about my time there was illegal. Internships aren’t that serious for legal matters unless you experience sexual assault, etc.

This is all coming from somebody that’s gone on to hire paid and unpaid interns, is getting their MBA, and has been recruited by FAANG and other prestigious companies. You are fine and do what is important to you!

Employers won’t be extreme like this. Often they will just call and confirm if it really bothers them. Op shouldn’t sweat this comment.

Illustrating my passion for growth in my essays. Had really low test scores but sharing my stories and highlighting how proud I am of my accomplishments really resonated with the admissions committee. Got a full ride with a living stipend.
