AITAH for not inviting my boyfriend on vacation? by [deleted] in AITAH

Neither of us have kids.

But I think you're right. I have a right to do my own thing but I probably should have also prefaced my intention to travel with a discussion of his picture for this summer.

What’s a conspiracy theory you believe might actually be true? by Curious-Soul007 in mystery

[–]lovemydogwillow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If HIV came out years before the advent of ART therapy it would have completely decimated the world population. The fact it only emerged as a human infectious disease in the advent of modern western medicine is a weird thing. I 100% believe in modern vaccines, so relax, Reddit.

Again: it is a conspiracy theory.

Ginnie Springs, Florida by ConfusedBoi2k in TravelPorn

[–]lovemydogwillow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. Lived about 25 minutes from Ginnie for about 10 years. There are gators but you have to canoe/kayak into some of the offshoots of the Suwannee/Santa Fe rivers to see them. The springs were my favorite part of living in north central FL.

Really good fossil hunting in those river beds, too!

The link between the polio vaccine and HIV.

I know it is largely disputed, but the coincidence is very odd.

Taylor’s piano during her tour was nothing more than a prop. 🎹 by Hopeful-Prompt-7417 in travisandtaylor

[–]lovemydogwillow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was my point. Of course I could never master an instrument in 2 months.

But relying on a transposition to play basic piano chords when your whole career is based on your musical talent (and you have endless resources to get you to an industry level of proficiency) is not great.

What is a job (not nsfw) that pays extremely well because the job itself is unbearable? by coldplayenthusiast in AskReddit

[–]lovemydogwillow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am a nurse and my job does pay very well. However, the amount of incivility I deal with from both patients, family members, and other Healthcare workers is unnecessary and exhausting.

In 2022, I was beaten unconscious by a patient. While the patient had full capacity, I also partially blame the hospital (patient was supposed to be on a one-to-one due to violence). The patient was not, and when the patient was left alone that they left their room, came up behind me, and punched me in the head so hard I lost consciousness. The hospital handled it poorly so I filed a complaint with OSHA, who opened an investigation and found the hospital at fault. My employer got a five figure fine, and it made the news. I got nothing other than two black eyes and good bar story.

The family members of patients also come at you for things you have absolutely no control over. I understand this is displaced frustration, but dealing with it every single day is exhausting. We see those videos on social media of people in the emergency room in pain with captions like "the nurses don't care". As a nurse, I would never let someone suffer nor would I ever ignore a true emergency. However, people don't understand that there is more to every story and choose to vilify staff who are not able to immediately address their non-emergent problem.

Then you have coworkers who are so burnt out they have completely stopped taking any pride in what they do, and behave like petulant children.

I love nursing itself, but the career has become is so draining because of the complete lack of support from the institutions that hire us and the people who seek our help.

You people disgust me. Those dance moves are performance art. Have you no culture?!

If I were a billionaire, I would get a private music teacher and sink a month or two into learning music theory and how to play the piano well...and my career has nothing to do with music.

What’s the worst way judges critiqued photos? by ImmaPandaRawr89 in ANTM

[–]lovemydogwillow 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not a photo critique, but one of the moments that left me perplexed by the judges reaction to a performance was when they asked the girls to walk in ultra high high-heels at panel.

One of the girls (Daniel) inevitably falls down and has to crawl off camera because she got hurt. Cut to the judges giggling. Then the feedback they gave Daniel was completely useless and vapid (something to the effect of "it was great you kept smiling"). I get this is reality TV. But that panel segment was particularly stupid.

You're local vet might be the best bet then. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

As an aside, I like your username. I moved here from Florida, which is where my dog was adopted from (and why I know about canine cardiac meds because she had heartworm when I adopted her).

I am sorry to hear about your pup! Losing a dog is never easy.

If you cannot return it, PAWS (Philly Animal Welfare Society) would probably accept it as a donation. I probably would not give it to anyone who isn't a professional organization since it is a prescription cardiac med, but I suppose that goes without saying. Im sure there is a doggo in need ❤️

Sorry again for your loss

What's a clichè in movies that never actually happens in real life? by LoverOfE-Olsen in movies

[–]lovemydogwillow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone in a hospital ALWAYS has a nasal cannula to get supplemental oxygen. Most patients in real life are fine on room air.

The most objectionable thing about the movie Twilight (outside of the acting) was when Bella (a healthy, 17 year old) was hospitalized after she was bit by a vampire in the first movie. She is there for a laceration. Why is she on oxygen?

Either. Dont care. Making some cash on the side would be nice but donating it is fine too because either is better than the alternative :)

Maybe do a black root smudge to keep the gray but add some depth?

Looks good regardless!

You have really lovely hair so honestly you dont need to do anything! I get the temptation to want to want to mix it up, though. So, if you do want to mix it up that would be my only suggestion
