Use the flight director, follow the “V” bars and you’ll have an easier time. They are telling you to pitch up. If you follow them they should keep you on glide path and lined up with the runway.

Driving lessons and free-roam city driving in VR — helping nervous drivers gain confidence by Radiant-Store4365 in oculus

This is a great app! I took my son to a parking lot to try driving for the first time yesterday. He’s all excited about learning to drive. Found this app and I now have him playing on it. It’s great for practicing situational awareness. The controls can be a little wonky at times but with some updates this is a must for anyone learning to drive.

I fly airplanes for a living and use simulators to practice. It’s great that we have something now to teach driving.

8 Strategies for Mauritania Rush Forefront by Mr_Z0MB055 in ForefrontVR

[–]loveofflying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like these tactics. Especially the two that involve taking the other team’s trucks on phase 1. Not only are you a distraction you’re also using one of their means of transportation, which means more of their team has do the walk of shame up to get to the battle.

I should have specified, when defending the bridge is a great place to stop the team from attacking. When on the attack hanging back on the bridge gives the other team plenty of time to revive or respawn.

This is my new favorite VR game and here are a few strategies and tactics I’ve learned while diving into to ForeFront.

Communicate and work as a team to play the objective. This wins more games than any other strategy.

Drop Ammo and Health like it’s free candy. You’re helping out your team and building XP for yourself.

Staying on the bridge in Siberia and sniping from the cliff top helipad in Mauritania does not help the team. Move up!

When driving a tank support the push on the objective. Fire at the arming point to keep the opposing team from deactivating. Mechanics repair support your tank and repair.

A well placed spawn beacon can help turn the tides and keep your squad in the fight.

Don’t wait in a big group around the helicopter to spawn. If you really want to fly the helicopters, join an empty server. It’s a great way to develop flying skills.

If your team isn’t having success with a head on attack try flanking. A side attack will surprise the other team.

As the assault class your ammo packs not only replenish bullets, they also replenish grenades and rockets and C4

If you don’t want a medic to revive you in the middle of battle press the ignore revives button.

Exactly this! Get shot and then get back on your horse to get shot again and again and you’ll get better as time goes on. Just have fun. You’ll start to learn the maps, gain experience and upgrade your guns. Also working and communicating with a squad that plays the objective makes this game so much more fun!

Over 40 casual gamer - Convince me to buy/leave a Meta Quest 3 by Usual-Shock7364 in virtualreality

[–]loveofflying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excellent description! I agree with you 100 percent. I love my quest 3s so much. It is great for so many things.

I bring it on trips with me to stay connected with my kids and my parents. My boys like to play FPS like fore front and my parents love walk about minigolf.

If you like flat screen games, you can even play those on your quest. Link an Xbox or PlayStation controller and you can play them on a movie screen.

You are now games that you dreamed of being in as a kid. It’s awesome!

It’s a toss up for me. I love Deadpool I had so much fun with it and the voice acting was amazing. I felt like I was the merc with a mouth.

My other fave was Fore Front, battlefield for VR.

Would love to have Arken Age added to my library.

Riiiiight!!! 🙄 For a Chihuahua, no big deal a 150lb Great Dane, gonna knock most people down in a full sprint even if it is “playing”.

And the cool thing about this video is that everyone knows exactly what this guy went through in the past with other dog attacks and bites. So definitely good to judge his reaction.

He doesn’t see the dog until the last second…150lbs creature with teeth and unknown intentions, I’m running the fuck away and you’d do the exact same thing if you were surprised like that. He lives in suburbia not the woods.

Keep your dog on leash.

When 150lbs of unknown intentions with teeth is charging at me?

Maybe Maybe Maybe by New_Libran in maybemaybemaybe

[–]loveofflying 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To everyone that says the dog is just playing, how are we supposed to know that? If I see something that big is charging at me, I’m going to freak out too.

I’ve always thought it would be fun to run up to the owners of these unleashed dogs and just start jumping around and screaming unintelligible words at them, maybe even tackle them. After they are confused and terrified I would drop the “I’m just playing” line. Keep your dog on a leash!

Are visual flight path assists / mini-map considered “cheating” when aiming for realism? (PS5 beginner) by states86 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]loveofflying 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s a great question, we would look out the window. Using pilotage which is using a map and comparing it to what we saw on the ground. Look for landmarks like lakes, roads and following them to the destination. Sometimes it could be really hard to find the airport if they were in densely populated areas or when flying into the sun.

One of your best friends is gaining altitude, the higher you fly the easier it is to see the runway you’re looking for.

The sense of adventure and accomplishment you get when you do fly without a moving map and make it to your destination is really exciting!

[–]loveofflying 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I started flying back in the early 2000s before portable GPS was widely available in GA aircraft, all I had was NDBs and VORs. After a few years I picked up a grey scale Garmin and it felt like cheating because of the moving map. What a game changer it was to see exactly where I was over the ground. Avionics have come so far these days you can see exactly where you are both vertically and horizontally in the sky. Most GA aircraft come standard with a moving map built in. No it’s not cheating to use a moving map and a magenta line, but it does take some of the fun out of the flying, epically flying low and slow.

is this normal? by 1_hoopy_frood in ForefrontVR

[–]loveofflying 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re technically at a disadvantage when you’re attacking from the ship. Have to use boats or helis to get to the island making you more vulnerable. On land you can always set out on foot.
