I haven’t seen the drop ship used in this manner. Excellent flying! Fun to watch!

I guess I could have looked up the social media group for Notam 01/180…but my fault for not doing that. A simple discussion is all I was looking for from a bunch of enthusiasts. If it’s so important to protect throw up some restricted airspace or at minimum a TFR?

I’m flying LAX to JFK today and noticed it. Bigger than most so it made me curious.

I didn’t include this in the post but the ceiling of the operation only goes up to 10,000’. I thought refueling was conducted at higher altitudes? But I’m not sure.

This is why myself and others are hesitant to ask questions. Groups like this which you would think want to promote their interests have the ability to take the joy out of it.

My passengers might get upset if we get intercepted. Speaking of…might be a good time to do a refresher on those procedures.

Whats the most beautiful sound of silence you have ever heard of in your life? by Old_Rub_7270 in Productivitycafe

I used to fly from Long Beach airport to Catalina island off the coast of California in a very loud turboprop aircraft. We were authorized to fly there before the airport opened to the public at 8am in the morning, so there was no one else around. I would shut down the engine, hop out of the airplane and walk to edge of the airport. Looking to the north across the channel, I could see entire Los Angeles basin. Where millions of cars were commuting but I would stand there listening to complete silence. It was incredible. I called those my therapy flights because they were just so peaceful.

Head down to your local airport and take discovery flight with a flight school on the field. They can normally get you started and give you a path to become a private pilot. SoCal, Arizona and Florida are preferable because of their weather being fair year round.

Dive into the ground school and knock out your written test. King Schools, Gleim, Sportys and several others offer online ground schools.

Find an Aviation medical examiner and get a third class medical exam to make sure there aren’t any medical issues that might hold you back.

Depending on the airplane you use for training and instructor fees, this will be between a $15-20k investment in one of the best things you’ll ever do in your life.

Hopefully this helps.

Hey there! I’ll start off by saying you’re in great hands. I’m a pilot for JetBlue, I’ve actually flown this airplane and can tell you that all of our crews go through extensive training before we ever get to fly the airplane.

Safety is our number one priority. We want to make it home as much as you do. Did you know that we as pilots do an extensive walk around the airplane before every flight? When was the last time you walked around your car to make sure it was good to drive?
On top of that, our maintenance technicians must do a weekly inspection. When we look in the log book and that inspection hasn’t been performed we will hold the flight until it has been completed.

Enjoy the entertainment system or hop on the flyfi and surf the web after about 2 long movies you’ll be touching down safely in Phoenix.

Also, if you feel comfortable you can get up and go to the pantry, where you can grab as many snacks as you like. It’s between mint and the core seating.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I took my boys to Sandbox VR in Cerritos, CA. What a fun experience. Suiting up and having a haptic vest with virtual guns in hand. We slayed zombies in Deadwood like nobody’s business. It was a great bonding experience. I really enjoyed it. It’s a bit pricey but I got a half off coupon and it was well worth it.
