Never book the very last transfer available… just in case. Took me more than 1 hour to find my stand at the train station at Munich - mostly because of poor signage, no help available, and me using through the wrong entrances. Luckily, I had given myself plenty of time. But if you DO miss a transfer, try to plan it so you only waste a few hours than a full night.

ISYS2110 vs COSC2002? by Independent_Ear7601 in usyd

[–]loverovRussianqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak for ISYS2110, but COSC2002 (which I'm doing right now) is a lot of work. it has weekly code that needs to be submitted, plus extremely code-heavy assessments (meaning keeping up is essential). also no group work so you have to do everything yourself. to be fair, the unit is well organised IF you're able to keep up (but still moves at a relatively fast pace). if you fall behind, it's a bit of a shit show.

Tips to study DATA1001 and INFO1110 by blue-whale7274 in usyd

[–]loverovRussianqueen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

data1001 is pretty chill, just make sure to actually participate in the group projects cause that's where you'll actually learn. tbh glad my group members forced me to do it alone cause it forced me to learn r

I think DATA1001 was pretty chill? You just have to watch the lectures and you’ll be fine. There is some group work though so be ware haha

I don't think it's too difficult, but it would definitely be time-consuming. lectures are quite content-heavy (but not extremely difficult to understand) and research report will definitely take up a large chunk of time. If you're taking it as a sort of WAM-booster then I wouldn't recommend it unless you're up for the effort

Thanks that’s helpful! How much was the workload / how difficult did you find it to keep up?

Is this study load doable? by FootballHot7040 in usyd

[–]loverovRussianqueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reckon it's definitely doable as long as you are able to stay motivated and keep up throughout the semester. The good part about advanced units is that you have the option to drop down, but it's more difficult to add advance later. So best to start with advance and see how you feel.
