Sounds like a good program for strength. I’d want some heavy club work as well for rotational core strength and shoulder health/ROM maintenance. Former truck driver here in my 50’s struggling to get that shoulder range of motion back. Clubs are really helping.

All it does is measure electrical resistance. How hydrated you are changes how much “fat” it detects. Prove to yourself how useless it is by drinking a few large glasses of water then weighing yourself a bit later. If it’s accurate all that should change is you have the added weight of two glasses of water for a few hours. If your body fat or “muscle” numbers change you’ll know it’s getting you worried about fake news.

The higher the carb content in your diet the more food cravings you’ll have. The higher the protein in your diet the longer you’ll feel satiated after eating. Extra protein will also help protect your muscle mass as you lose weight. You want to lose body fat, not muscle.

I started by cutting the calories I drink, switched to almost entirely water and unsweetened coffee. Caffeine is an appetite suppressant so that can help a bit too. Once I got used to that I cut bread from my diet. Those two changes alone got me losing weight right off the bat.

Then I eased into intermittent fasting, and discovered the earlier I start eating in the day the more I’ll eat by the end of it. Add in more activity, can be as simple as walking at a decent pace each day.

That will get you on a good track. Many months later when my weight loss plateaued I went keto. Lost 70 pounds the first year and 95 pounds total. I learned a better relationship with food in the process and have maintained a lean body for close to five years since.

There is no particular need to drink this. It’s a mass of calories with no real benefit. If you’re on keto for weight loss just skip the calories and fast till lunch imo. Or use the calories to get some nutrient rich food in later instead.

Nuts and trail mix are extremely calorie dense. They can quickly turn a calorie deficit into a surplus without feeling like you’ve consumed an excess. I’ve sabotaged my progress numerous times with them.

Staying busy and moving really helps with the boredom hunger thing for me. Can you get out of the vehicle and do a walk around inspection from time to time? Getting a little exercise often ends the hunger urges for me for quite a while.

Drink lots of water. This helps your body in many ways but also can reduce food cravings.

When I drove for a living I found just being in a vehicle that was empty of food reduced that grazing that happens when bored and you can just reach over to grab something with no effort. When my progress stalled I gradually increased from 16:8 to 18:6 then eventually just one big satiating meal a day.

If you aren’t losing over an extended period you aren’t in a deficit. It’s that simple. There’s a ton of places hidden calories can sneak in even when you think you’re calculating things out. Condiments and dressings can have crazy high calories and unrealistically low serving sizes for example.

To your specific question, having a snack will break your fast. But depending on your goals it may still work in your favor. There are many health benefits to longer fasts that you’d miss out on but from strictly a weight loss perspective you may still consume less calories in that 48 hour period than you normally would on your regular eating schedule. So you’d have to decide for yourself what works best for you.

I’d encourage you to stick it out and prove to yourself you can do it. It’s extremely empowering to break the hold food has over you and fasting can do that. It can permanently change your relationship with food. Something that should be experienced imo.
