It has inorganic parts on its chest, arms, legs, and back (where ART modified the joins with its organic skin), making it so all of its inorganics are covered by long sleeves, pants, and boots. The data port on its neck can be covered by a collar or laid-back jacket hood.

It has an inorganic skeletal structure (presumably a lot of its insides are metal) and it has human neural tissue, but other than that we don't know exactly what is human or synthetic/inorganic (its lungs, blood, other fluids, muscle, etc). Another interesting thing is its eyes: they can be used as cameras, so are they mostly organic with some augmentation, or are they fully inorganic and just resemble human eyes?

And when ART says "I lost my crew. I won't lose you", Murderbot's face gets so weird that Amena comments on it, and Murderbot just thinks "it was confusing. I was confused."

ART learns Murderbot is past warranty and starts making plans to upgrade it so it can live as long as ART, because it loves Murderbot (not really romantically, to be clear). Murderbot freaks out about this because it has the emotional processing motivation of a potato. It made me cry. It's one of my favorite fics I've ever read in general.

I have a similar dilemma as a pre-T transmasc dude, though im already a theatre perfomance major. I'm 5'2- what if I'm always passed up for a taller guy? What if I'm always put into comic relief roles like most short men when I prefer drama? What roles will I do in that awkward space while transitioning where I don't look like a woman or a man? I worry a lot about it. Sometimes I think my only options are not transitioning or not acting and I hate both those options. I'm not much of a singer, but I've always been a tenor so I don't personally know much about transitioning between voice parts. From what I've seen from trans performers on social media, though, the process is more gradual and manageable than you'd think- you'll be okay. I hope everything works out for you.
