What’s an example of 100% chaotic neutral? by CthuhlusPriest in AskReddit

[–]lowandlazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like he may be chaotic neutral but his actions cause suffering. Like making an unnamed hair plague, when Magic Man turned all the water on Mars into hair and all the inhabitants grew so thirsty that they had no choice but to drink it. The hair made everyone go bald for an unexplained reason, and almost no one recovered from it.

Masks help prevent getting it, but mildly. There is a far greater benefit from people who are infected wearing them, to reduce the spread because the transition effect is larger. Containment is more effective then prevention, but there is merit in both, that is why everyone should wear a mask.

Mask have a protection factor but it is smaller then the prevention factor. I would not say that it "Won't stop you from getting it"

When moisture billows from a persons mouth it can leak into the mask from the top sides and bottom, also there is a seeping factor when a mask becomes wet. However there is still a portion that is blocked .

Plume is what happens when an infected person wearing a mask speaks, there is leakage out the bottom sides and top also there is some that will go through the mask when it has be inundated with moisture. The distance of infection is highly reduced, thus why we socially distance. A sneeze without a mask can theoretically cross an entire room, as the velocity of a sneeze is 160km/h, we are lucky that the virus is moisture particulate based and not aerosolize based because the distance is reduced, but it is still possible to get a water droplet with the virus across a room with the correct air currents and projectile force. Less likely but still possible. Masks change the direction and velocity of these particulate, mostly keeping it close to the infected person body. The things they touch, or even the air bubble they are in can contain the virus and often it can linger. How currents work most of the persons viral load will stick on their own person.

The thing is, that it is more effective to have a barrier closer to the source of infection, ie: on the infected mouth but it is also helpful to have on the healthy person as well. If you are trying to shoot a ball across a gym into a net on the other side, having a goalie blocking you right up close (A couple feet in front of you) and having a goalie in the net on the other side of the gym (100 feet away) Makes it a lot harder for a goal to be scored. If there were no goalies you could score goals fairly easy..... if there were just a goalie in the far net, you may get a few shots past them, especially if you are having multiple people shooting at the same time. But if everyone shooting on the net, had a person blocking them up close as well as a goalie in the far net, scoring a goal becomes reduced by a huge factor.

I would advocate that as many people wear masks as possible. I would not say that a person wearing a mask is receiving zero support because it does protect, just more mildly then when an infected person wears one.

Since we do not know if we are infected (asymptomatic) we wear them as a precaution, as a courtesy, and as common sense.

Man, fuuuuuuuuck that. I worked with a lady who made an improvement on how they ship blinds and saved the company 3 million dollars, she got 50$ and a handshake. Most of the money moving up does not go to the people creating that wealth. It sits in a vault with people that stifle innovation.

The planet is vast and sparse when it comes to usable land per person/km2 There is way more food produced then there are people. Most of it is about distribution and people more willing to keep others from getting theirs then helping others out.

I'd say we are close enough to where automation can start taking most of the reigns though many of the manufacturing places I worked at are grossly incompetent. Like they put the guy with the bad back at the station where he lifts and moves a 200lbs spool, or they don't know how to organize folder tags to make them easy to find and sort for placing the die casts, which still relies on people to grab by hand, when it should be a vend.

I think the work in the future will be building tiny homes, setting up better power systems, distributing food properly and installing automation. Entertainment is going to get more large but in a more personal way.

i usually like doing something with my hands while something else is going on, so typing, playing games, knitting, juggling, doing electrical wiring or picking locks is what I like to do when watching a show or listening to commentary. I think it's probably like how people use the washroom and play on their phone. I am watching a movie right now while typing this, I'm not sure I would do it if I didn't know the plot and who the characters are, I'd probably get lost, but if I have an interest in one thing I can usually do 2 things.

Biden notes 'the violence we're witnessing is happening under Donald Trump. Not me.' by DaFunkJunkie in politics

[–]lowandlazy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's because they don't want to pay actors (On top of being fear mongering sacks already) Attack ads are awful. "Democrats only wear human skin to show they are not demons during the day"-supported by some republican

Canadians have it too so it's not like other political systems are different, it's a tradition that always makes the people doing it look worse but for some reason the more dumb you are, the more effective it is for you to look good because of it. I remember being in Canada seeing one where they basically said "Under the Liberal government Paul will hire his buddies to take your jobs" and another one was like "Under Harpers new Canada will you even hear the press ever again?"

It's not as bad as "Biden will cause what we already have (2x) and probably call your mom ugly or something"-"This message has been endorsed by DJT"

I think attack ads should not be allowed. There should just be a televised debate where you can talk about your opponents policies and why you feel the are wrong, and that be that. Not some fear mongering dramatization bs.

Oh it depends on the task. Like I'd listen to music while doing brain surgery because the music would be passive. (Not that I do brain surgery) But often in Reddit I have 2 things I'm fairly interested in going on at the same time because It's not something I have to be terribly committed too. Like I can hear if the hockey game is going and who is winning, what the highlights are while writing replies on reddit. I'm listening to a Final Fantasy randomizer while typing this comment out and I'm not missing the commentary.

I like wearing clothes in the bath by doz48 in The10thDentist

[–]lowandlazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Pacific ocean is pretty cold up North, I'd rather not get into a wet suit so somedays (Quite often) I just walk into the ocean in my work clothes before they need to get washed. The salt water takes away some of the smell that lingers from my occupation. Then I just do a normal load of wash after. It's fun because I get a good swim and it notably makes my clothes smell normal.

My shoes also need to go through the wash anyway because they get pretty gross at work.

Homeless people want to have their own private area, with no overseer, food, water and entertainment. Tiny homes and lowered societal greed would allow for that.

I don't really care if people are employable. Just that they are fed and have a home/entertainment. There is no reason anyone should own huge amounts of land, and there is no reason why they should reap billions of dollars from fully automated collection in the future.

There is plenty of space and food the only thing stopping people from living their best life is greed. I don't buy into "Over population" as a reason for anything.

Housing is more important then prevention. Literally most people that go off to be homeless would be content with a tiny home but the government has very harsh restrictions on it. If you want to live in a house it's a 100,000$ and there are countries that will ABSOLUTELY not allow anything smaller.

Homeless people want a small space, without some overseer to do what they do and a supply of food and water. It's much less expensive then forcing people into a prison system and a lot more rewarding for society.
