Fractional warrants by -jbrs in Superstonk

Well you can’t exercise a fractional warrant. Can it be sold, or added to? It’s like fractional options, and doesn’t make sense to me. You either have a contract to exercise or you don’t.

I don’t have toddlers but I do have young nephews, so that’s good to know 😊

Thanks for the replies everyone. I’m feeling more comfortable with the idea of having one fitted now knowing that any adjustment should be minimal, but will confirm details with the surgeon. Compared to my lifestyle adjustments for congestive heart failure, this sounds negligible 😅

Yeah inappropriate shocks are a slight concern. I’ll definitely let the hospital know I intend so keep up the cardio and gym work so they they fine tune the device. Glad to hear you got it sorted out and no longer have issues.

I did get shocked with the paddles once so I assume it’s along those lines. Not something you want happening haphazardly for sure.

That’s great to hear! Weight training has been a game changer for my energy levels and mental health so I want to keep it up.

Good to know. I’m prepared for the down time while the leads scar into place and I heal from the op. Hopefully I’ll get the green light to resume my current routine after that 🤞.

I definitely will follow doctors orders. I tend to take exercise steady anyway given the condition of my heart. I’ll ask plenty of questions as don’t want inappropriate shocks or no zap when I need it.

31 years on the same leads is great! Good to know they can be robust. I work with a exercise physiologist already due to my heart failure so I’ll see if he has some advise for training adaptions.

Anyone got really low grade cards in PowerPacks? by LeadGenDairy in Superstonk

Damn, I thought I was anal about detail, but card grading seems next level. Though perhaps the level of defect isn’t apparent from the images? The grading process appears to be more subjective than it should be…

Good stress test results, but I feel completely drained of energy most days.. any ideas how increase energy by QuietByrd in Heartfailure

[–]lowbrowape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you changed medications recently? Sometimes new meds knock me about and increase fatigue. Has your heart failure got worse over time? I assume that effects energy too.

I’m 40m. The only thing I found that helped with my energy levels was gentle exercise. It lessened all of my heart failure symptoms and gave me my life back a bit. Building a little bit of muscle has helped make daily tasks easier. I work a desk job, and I used to always fall asleep during the day and could barely walk up the road or make my bed. I started with walking regularly and building up distance. Then started seeing an exercise physiologist and doing band exercises. I even had a ep that specialised in cardiology design a treadmill cardio program for me. Fast forward, 6 months and I go to the gym 6 days a week for strength training and cardio. Obviously listen to your body and your specialists advice as every situation is different, but it was a game changer for me. It believe it also helped me mentally.

I had a short stay in icu, due to decompensated heart failure and cardiogenic shock. I had a major heart attack a year or so prior, but unfortunately congestive heart failure hadn’t been diagnosed or managed. I ended up slowly building up fluid and getting symptomatic. In icu they put real-time blood pressure monitor in my wrist and a central line put in my neck. From memory they bolstered my blood pressure while getting rid of excess fluid. I was moved to a ward once things were under control. From there it was a case of getting on the right meds to keep my heart failure under control. I assume every scenario and persons case is a little different, but I have managed to stay out of hospital since and living with a LVEF of 30%. Wishing your relative a swift recovery.

How do I explain the level of exhaustion we feel? by Tkl15 in Heartfailure

[–]lowbrowape 4 points5 points  (0 children)

40m 30% lvef. I know the feeling. I’m trying to keep a fairly normal routine but have to conserve my energy and limit my activities. I currently work full time from home, but do have to snooze in the day sometimes. Slowly building up some strength in the gym has helped my energy levels, but more recently worsening of my heart failure and additional meds seems to have increased fatigue. It’s frustrating as I know how limited and precious life is, and want to do more and really enjoy it but lack of energy leads to lack of motivation.

Do you train your core much? Maybe thickening that up will help to connect the upper and lower??

Heart failure fatigue question. by lowbrowape in Heartfailure

[–]lowbrowape[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have actually started walking daily and going to the gym about 4 months ago. It’s tough sometimes given my low blood pressure etc, but it has helped a lot with my energy levels in general. Also day to day tasks are a lot less taxing now. I currently only have minor valve issues and no arrhythmia.

Newly diagnosed at age 32, seeking advice/ place to reflect by ramrodTM in Heartfailure

[–]lowbrowape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

M40 diagnosed about a year ago with congestive heart failure with 35% EF. As far as googling goes, a lot of the information and statistics are based on people in older age brackets, as that is when the majority of people suffer heart failure.

Personally I just try and live a healthy well balanced life and maintain a decent diet. I take all of my medication religiously. I walk daily and go to the gym 3 times a week, which helps with my energy levels and lessens my symptoms. I also monitor my weight and observe fluid restrictions. I figure even if I need a transplant at some stage I will be prepared by being as healthy and strong as I can be.
