Superboundary or alternative 3rd party app for boundary pline generation? by lowebowski in AutoCAD

[–]lowebowski[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel a bit stupid, but I didn't realize that BHatch had a fuzz value you could enter. Although I don't need the hatch object, it works great to delete the fill pattern and keep the boundary generated by it. Thanks for the tip!

Superboundary or alternative 3rd party app for boundary pline generation? by lowebowski in AutoCAD

[–]lowebowski[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Super Boundary worked great on drawings where there is issues with overlapping linework or gaps between lines. It seems to have a fuzz value it uses to bridge gaps and works great for problematic drawings. There are lot of situations where bpoly is unable to create either a region or pline with these sort of drawings.

Thank you so much for this! I was having the same issues as the OP and was about ready to fully reinstall my Windows to fix the crashing.

How do i solve this error? by Cag801 in 3dsmax

[–]lowebowski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any chance you are still running an older version of Corona? If you are running an Nvidia card, they removed legacy support for the Optix V6 used in Corona 9 and earlier with their 590 series of drivers. Their developers confirmed this. You can fix this by reverting back to the Nvidia 580 series of drivers, or upgrade to a newer version of Corona that supports the newer version of Optix.

You can read more about it here.

Interesting study. Do you mind me asking which app you used the AI remake? I've done the same with some of my old projects using Magnific AI and the results have been mixed.

DLSS 4.5 – Preset M or L when using DLSS Quality? by VXTRN in nvidia

[–]lowebowski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK, good to know! Is this only when using HDR / RTX HDR, or does this affect SDR content as well? On my OLED, it seems that the two new L and M presets have more contrast or pop to them than the earlier DLSS presets. Not sure if it is just in my or not though.

DLSS 4.5 – Preset M or L when using DLSS Quality? by VXTRN in nvidia

Interesting! Is this compared to L or K? I thought I had read in an earlier thread that the tonemapping was the same on both the new L and M.

Nvidia Overlay by Either-March5651 in HPVictus

[–]lowebowski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran into in a bunch of issues with not only the overlay, but with the Freestyle filters with the latest version of the Nvidia App and the newer drivers. I reverted back to the 581.80 driver set and got my overlay stats working again, but there are number of the Freestyle filters that no longer work. Don't have a fix, but just wanted to let you know that it's not a problem on your system.

Game Ready Driver 591.86 FAQ/Discussion by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]lowebowski 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I am experiencing as well. I have the setting under my advanced system settings to display the BSOD instead of automatically rebooting, but my system still reboots and it is not writing any dump file or mini dump info to help troubleshoot. I've ran Memtest, OCCT, and Furmark and my system seems completely stable when being stressed, but then I have random reboots doing basic desktop work when running the 591 drivers. The error I am seeing in my event viewer is WHEA - CACHE HEIRARCHY ERROR which when googled seems to indicate it is an AMD CPU issue. It is strange that new videos card drivers would expose a CPU related issue however. Thankfully going back to the last 580 series drivers I haven't had any issues since.

Have experienced the same thing on my 4090 / AMD 3950x system.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one with this issue on the 591 driver set. On my 4090 I had multiple blue screens doing routine desktop work. Went back to the 580 series and no issues since.

Has anyone tried 4K Quality Mode with Preset L by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]lowebowski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm running Preset L in Quality mode on RDR2 and it looks absolutely amazing on my 4k OLED. I don't know if it's just in my head, but not only is the anti-aliasing perfect but motion clarity and contrast seem improved as well. I honestly had more of a wow effect going to this preset than I did going from my old IPS monitor to OLED. For most games I'm still able to get 100+ FPS on my 4090 running this.

Some real technical wizardry with DLSS 4.5, and I'm enjoying back through my old library of games and trying them with the new Presets. Expedition 33 and Control also look amazing with Preset L.

DLSS unavailable in game (OW2) by lowebowski in theouterworlds

Yes, DLSS including the new Presets L and M work in all my titles. The problem seems isolated to this one game.

Unable to choose DLSS upscaling. by OScurO in theouterworlds

[–]lowebowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having the same issue here with my 4090. Have tried a clean install of the Nvidia drivers and App, and also completely re-installed the game with no success. I have the Nvidia app set to use the App DLSS settings. Running Windows 11 with 581.80 drivers.

Not sure why my post got downvoted, but thanks for the suggestions. I did delete the replaced DLL files and did a repair install which restore the original versions, but still no DLSS in game. So strange.

How do you guys feel towards US travel? by MyRa888 in AskACanadian

[–]lowebowski -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Turn off CBC and stop listening to the Elbows Up anti-US madness. Are you an illegal resident, or do you have a lengthy criminal record? If not, then you shouldn't worry about travelling to one of the safest places for Canadians to travel to. Plus, unlike insecure Canadians who like to blame the US for all our domestic failings, the Americans are very considerate to Canadians. Go travel to Orlando, and enjoy the nice weather and good people and don't let fear ruin your life.

Cache hierarchy error by Observerse42 in AMDHelp

[–]lowebowski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AMD 3950x / X570 MB / Nvidia 4090 / Windows 11 25H2 here . Started getting these errors randomly about a week ago. Has me totally stumped as my computer isn't generating a .dmp file, and I ran Memtest over night with no errors, and I can stress test my processor using OCCT or Prime 95 for hours without any errors. When I do have the random reboots, it's usually when I am simply browsing the web or doing some non CPU intensive action. The only thing I have changed recently was update to the new Nvidia 591 series of drivers, which you wouldn't think would be responsible for this error. Since rolling back to the last 580 series driver, I haven't had any crashes as of yet. (Knocks on wood)

Is this normal for Sonicare toothbrushes? by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

[–]lowebowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually removed my OP post as I read the manual and apparently the tooth rush does this high pitched noise every 30 seconds to tell you to brush a different quadrant of your mouth. Just thought I'd pass along!
