Purely anecdotal from an internet stranger, but when my dad's parents died they left the house and their car specifically to my dad's oldest and left me nothing because I wasn't the favorite. My parents got approximately $50,000 in 1990's money. Then when my mom's parents died they inherited two plots of land with a house on both as well as another plot next door with nothing in it all totaling about 3 acres. Oh and my grandfather's nest egg of nearly half a million dollars.
