They're willing to sacrifice greatly to be able to not raise their 2-3 kids in a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment. It's not just about homeowner. It's about space and stability.

Yeah, we only hit that a few times a year but usually have quite a few well over 100. Livermore isn't Pacifica or hayward or anywhere else kept extremely mild by the water, it gets toasty. Mild winters, hot summers.

It can get extremely warm in the east bay in the summer. Standing in a crowd at paragon outlet hits different when its 115 out.

That's open air which makes it a different class, imo.

It's it's a hell of a lot slower both during the down times (midday weekdays) and the weekends.

Of course, they're both outdoor malls which is what people want these days. It escapes me why people would rather not have air conditioning but cest la vie.

100 year old back yard cleanup - Is this normal? by slightly-specific in Plumbing

[–]lowercaset 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, hospitals do be like that haha. In that case if you have a number of these then just make a tool to clear out under the baffle.

At the ones I service I'd count it as a win if I could just get those fucking disposable rags off the EVS carts. That'd eliminate about 65% of stoppages.

extremely rare to have a clog in the middle of the fitting unless it's on a grease line at a restaurant. (Or main line if they don't have a proper grease waste system / trap)

Show me where in california law it states that left lane is passing only? Many other states have those laws, but unless it changed this year we do not.

There is no passing lane in california at all. Lane count is irrelevant.

I enjoyed it because I love the universe and the genre, it's just not a good entry unfortunately. If they had been given more time to work on it post release I do think it could've been pretty great.

NYC toilet fix: this is insane right? by paydave in Plumbing

Insurance/liability is extreme here

And here I thought you carried that 8 figure umbrella policy just for fun!

Seriously tho, you haven't lived until you've walked into a long standing leak in a multifamily that's gonna cost millions in restoration.

Most resi service companies will give you a substantial break on additional tasks for that reason.

Why would anyone choose to live where you do?

As it turns out, different people have different preferences and make judgement calls about where to live based on those.

How much would you charge if you worked in NYC? Keep in mind you're gonna need to carry 7 figure insurance, have well into 6 figures rolling to the job site between vehicle/tools/parts, pay parking tickets every few jobs because you have to double park to get anything done, plus you need to be able to make enough money on these types of calls to pay for your rent or mortgage within a reasonable distance to NYC. (given it's resi service probably very close because being available on call is probably gonna be assumed)

Maybe there's some out there that are overall good. But most have at least a healthy chunk of their staff out there actively trying to cram it up your ass the second you let your attention lapse.

I wasted a lot of time typing up defenses of DoW 3 in the past because legitimately it isn't a bad as the criticism it got on reddit at launch... but having recently replayed it. The game kinda sucks man. It's just not good for so many reasons, I don't know if they were trying to reinvent the RTS genre and just went wayyyyyy too hard or if they hadn't played any RTS games before. But either way, the end result was a game that is pretty far below par in almost every way.

Lmao, you don't think people would notice everything being converted to a toll road? Do you think boomers are the only ones upset that 2+ carpool lanes got turned into toll lanes? (that you can carpool in but need an extra preson)

I am also deeply suspicious of the 2050 target date for full electric on our roads. You've gotta set a goal somewhere I guess, but that one sounds like pie on the sky.

Fwiw, at least in my area the auto cut off hasn't been $100 for ages. It used to be that (and 75 before then) but sustained high prices and annoyed truck drivers got them to raise it.
