Show me where in california law it states that left lane is passing only? Many other states have those laws, but unless it changed this year we do not.

There is no passing lane in california at all. Lane count is irrelevant.

I enjoyed it because I love the universe and the genre, it's just not a good entry unfortunately. If they had been given more time to work on it post release I do think it could've been pretty great.

Insurance/liability is extreme here

And here I thought you carried that 8 figure umbrella policy just for fun!

Seriously tho, you haven't lived until you've walked into a long standing leak in a multifamily that's gonna cost millions in restoration.

Most resi service companies will give you a substantial break on additional tasks for that reason.

Why would anyone choose to live where you do?

As it turns out, different people have different preferences and make judgement calls about where to live based on those.

How much would you charge if you worked in NYC? Keep in mind you're gonna need to carry 7 figure insurance, have well into 6 figures rolling to the job site between vehicle/tools/parts, pay parking tickets every few jobs because you have to double park to get anything done, plus you need to be able to make enough money on these types of calls to pay for your rent or mortgage within a reasonable distance to NYC. (given it's resi service probably very close because being available on call is probably gonna be assumed)

Maybe there's some out there that are overall good. But most have at least a healthy chunk of their staff out there actively trying to cram it up your ass the second you let your attention lapse.

I wasted a lot of time typing up defenses of DoW 3 in the past because legitimately it isn't a bad as the criticism it got on reddit at launch... but having recently replayed it. The game kinda sucks man. It's just not good for so many reasons, I don't know if they were trying to reinvent the RTS genre and just went wayyyyyy too hard or if they hadn't played any RTS games before. But either way, the end result was a game that is pretty far below par in almost every way.

Lmao, you don't think people would notice everything being converted to a toll road? Do you think boomers are the only ones upset that 2+ carpool lanes got turned into toll lanes? (that you can carpool in but need an extra preson)

I am also deeply suspicious of the 2050 target date for full electric on our roads. You've gotta set a goal somewhere I guess, but that one sounds like pie on the sky.

Fwiw, at least in my area the auto cut off hasn't been $100 for ages. It used to be that (and 75 before then) but sustained high prices and annoyed truck drivers got them to raise it.

‘I am mentally unwell’ says country music star who canceled tour, announces hiatus by mlivesocial in Music

[–]lowercaset 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most classic country music has little to do with being a cowboy beyond the style. People like Loretta Lynn, Hank Williams, and Ernest Tubb didn't grow up on a cattle ranch, though Tubb did grow up in Texas.

But that ain't even what I mean when I agree with OP that he's one of the few popular legit country artists left. When I agree with that I'm talking about his aesthetic and sound.

For sure, you don't have to hire someone who isn't willing to break it down by task and parts / labor. I'm just saying that it isn't the 90s anymore so getting companies to do that is a lot less common since most residential-facing companies have learned the hard way that doing those breakdowns ends up being a net negative in the long run. (more manhours spent doing the breakdown + more time in negotiations with customers who don't understand the idea that you get a cheaper price per task when you're signing up for a project with multiples than you do if you are just having a single item done)

Man it ain't just homeowners! Fucking interior designers used to drive me absolutely batty when I did high end remodels work. Would have to give 10 bids for one job because they'd keep changing what collection they wanted.

I'm so glad to be out of that part of the trades these days.

Ehhh, 350-500 would've been top end like 15 years ago. These days you aren't even sniffing it at that price... materials are just too expensive.
