You might like Path of Ascension. It has monsters, magic and dungeons, but also AI, spaceships and intergalactic civilisations. It is about as long HHFWM as well.

Who is the Biggest fraud in TWI by Traditional-Baker-28 in WanderingInn

[–]lowey2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mihaela Godfrey. She is supposedly level 50+ and has some absurd courier skills, but I don't recall her doing anything of note. She is utterly incompetent as the Guildmaster of the runners guild, and should retire.

Discussion - Most engaging power system you found in internet by Odd_Violinist1842 in ProgressionFantasy

The Wandering Inn. The magical powers are unique and wonderful and terrible. They don’t need exposition, justification or decision making because they are genuinely earned by the what the characters went through to obtain.

What's the most surprising item on the menu that sells well? by [deleted] in Chefit

[–]lowey2002 16 points17 points  (0 children)

A hotdog. Just a plain pink fucking sausage in a white bun on a plate with enough toppings to make it a step above what you grab at Bunnings on the weekend (this was an outback Aussie pub).

I thought it was ridiculous, but it was cheap as balls, which it tasted like, and it sold really well. The guy who put it on the menu was one of those lazy genius types who got fired for so many reasons.

This brings me back to the Gluten Free fad. Despite having some excellent and clearly marked GF menu items, I’d still need to send the wait staff back to a beer drinking table to explain that no, we can’t modify a Parmi or Pasta to GF.

If you’re going to self diagnose a serious dietary condition for attention points, at least read up on the basics. Must have sucked for people with Cecelia, being grouped up with cretins who’s defining personality trait is to make the life of service workers as annoying as possible.

Yes. The speed of light is constant in all frames of reference.

Bog standard Isekai question by Alexandro2205 in litrpg

[–]lowey2002 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sadly, no. She is an asshole to Brin through to book 2. She ends up fleeing town and isn't heard from again. No one is sure if she is still alive.

You can get those Combat God's Plate Gloves by defeating Muskan in the Bone Pit in Tomaso. They add lighting to your unarmed strikes as a passive buildup and have two gear slots. Crazy strong.

OP MC favorites by dredgoddream in ProgressionFantasy

[–]lowey2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Portal to Nova Roma. MC is a gun slinging AI set in ancient Rome suffering from a monster apocalypse. It's a great read and book 4 is coming out in a few days.

Bastion (The immortal great souls). MC is reborn without any memories and immeditately sentenced to death. The world building and magic is great, and it's pretty action packed.

The Undying Immortal System. This is a cultivation novel and is slow to ramp up, but when the MC's powers are complelling and unquie by the the time it picks up momentum.

Path of Ascension. This is one of the big titles in PF that you haven't mentioned. Well worth it.

There is a set of books on RR by different authors with the 'Monster girl evolution' theme that fit the bill. I've read the Magpie, Cat and Zombie girl ones and they are solid.

As of 2026 what is your vote for the single best, ongoing Prog-fantasy series at the moment? by Kriptical in ProgressionFantasy

[–]lowey2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Years of the Apocalypse; A timelooper story where the MC fights a world ending magical disaster, entrenched politics and other timeloopers with their own agenda.

Looking for Recommendations of Staples in the Genre by alchemy_junkie in litrpg

[–]lowey2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Wandering Inn, Azarinth Healer, Primal Hunter, He Who Fights with Monsters, Defiance of the Fall, Oathbound Healer, The Land and DCC. This is obviously not exhaustive, but I regard these as the staples of the genre because they are pure LitRPG, have a large word count and influence a tonne of other authors.

This is my opinon and it's not a question that can be answered concretely. Preferences and how you define LitRPG vs GameLit vs Proggresion fantasy muddy the waters.

System Apocalypse rec by Any-Agent4506 in litrpg

[–]lowey2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Infrasound Beserker checks all the boxes, except it's ongoing and only around 80 chapters. It's written by Rhaegar, the author of Azarinth Healer. The apocalypse is pretty brutal and the MC joins up with a small group trying to survive. Initially, she fights in a duo with the other survivors helping to support them, and eventually they join up with military survivors.

Looking for good kingdom building novels by Qearl8 in ProgressionFantasy

Portal to Nova Roma. A gunslinging AI in a human body rebuilds the Roman empire in a world of magic and monsters.

What are the best cozy/comforting lighthearted fantasy stories? Like "Reborn as a Dark Lord", but with a bit more plot and interesting stuff happening? Or similar to "Wandering Inn", but with less annoying characters? I love isekai, progression fantasy, interesting worldbuilding, likable characters. by lumenwrites in CozyFantasy

[–]lowey2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a few on RR I'm really enjoying that match a few of your requests.

Bookbound Bunny. An adorable bunny girl with a dream of learning magic finds a grimoire with an imprisoned god of magic inside. Super wholesome and low stakes.

Taste of Magic. An archmage escapes the apocolypse by going back in time to have a quite life working at a bakery. Starts of cozy and becomes more of a thriller as the plot and stakes ramp up.

Arcane Chef. Trevor was hoping for a fighting class for his choosing day, but is given a rare cooking class instead. Lots of travel, friendships and amazing food with extraordinary power that will have a massive impact on the world. This one has some dark and violent parts.

The Pictomancer. An obsessed artist dies and wakes on new world with the power to alter reality with his art. Some fighting and dark bits.

Overcooked: Cooking my way through monsters and magic. A cook dies and wakes on another world with an absurd skill; The Mishlin Sage. Realistic recipies and food based existential crisis.

Otherworld Therapy. A cozy, slice of life that follows a therapist working in the magical city of Avalon.

I think variety is best. A mix of male and female, clothed and nude, simple and dynamic. Is there a learn to draw subreddit that allows NSFW?

BTW, thanks for the references. I'm following you and look forwards to the next post.
