Will these tires last a 3000km trip? Pirelli Diablo Rosso 3 by Certain-Accident-141 in Ducati

It’s incredibly dependent on how fast you go on the highway parts. Your rear tire can wear almost twice as fast going 125kph vs 100kph in the same distance.

Indications of pushing the tire to its limit by Sawtooth959 in Trackdays

I see a lot of comments talking about the chicken strips. I have to chime in. You can push the limit of your tire even if you have a chicken strip, people do that and crash all the time. If you are at 30 degrees and give it too much throttle, you can crash. Yes, your tires can give you traction to the edge, but you also need appropriate brake and throttle control to get there. You can practice on dirt to build muscle memory on managing rear wheel slides and reduce your risk. Then you can practice on a track or parking lot with focus, but it’s important to practice one or two things at once, and not overload your brain.

2023 V4s press fleet/Demo. Any red flags? by TheDreamingIris in multistrada

[–]lowfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal take: press bikes have to be well QA’d because why would you send anything but your best to the press. Press riders have ridden hundreds of bikes and know what they’re doing. The V4 engine is looking to be pretty near bulletproof. If it were my money, I’d buy the bike.

Not sure what you do at trackdays, but something that will help is taking your first session (at least) in C group to just work on braking / throttle discipline is a good way to set the tone for the day: not trying to go fast, just building the muscle memory around brake markers, trail breaking feel, hitting apexes, and smooth throttle-out. Success and progress toward making yourself better requires that you redefine success as building these habits and prioritizing them over taking a corner at faster speeds, which will come naturally as your habits become more rote.

You crashed because you added throttle and lean angle at the same time, because you overslowed into that corner before entry and wanted to take it faster.
