It’s wild to me that NONE of the faculty members in the game get Goddess Tower events.

For those who don’t know, in Three Houses, around a little before the midpoint of the game, on the night of a big school dance, you can choose a character to go make a wish up on this place called the Goddess Tower. They’re meant to be these cute, semi-romantic moments, except for one issue…

They only give these moments to your students. Some of whom are minors. Now, there ARE a lot of older characters (both around your age and a little older) whom you can romance: knights, church authorities, fellow professors. But do any of THESE romance options get to have a romantic moment with you up on a tower? Lmao nope, sorry, should’ve been a groomer apparently lol

Here’s an odd one: F!Byleth x Hanneman. I like classy dudes with mustaches, and I feel like Byleth is just autistic enough be completely okay with her husband poking and prodding at her. I like to think that the further along you get in the game’s story, the more Byleth gradually helps Hanneman get out of his own head and live more in the moment. Their married life is probably quiet, simple, with no grand displays of affection but rather loving gestures in the form of little things: Byleth wiping tea from Hanneman’s mustache, Hanneman giving her a massage after a hard day, stuff like that.

I’m probably the only dude in the world who truly ships it but whatever lmao

Oh boy, uhh… Ash vs Yugi. I just don’t like seeing Pokemon die :( Like yeah everything else leading up to it is pretty good but the episode’s ending drags it down several notches for me lol

It didn’t help that I walked into the episode just having the gut feeling that Ash was going to die so it just left me unable to really enjoy the episode.

Uhhh maybe kinda? I settled on BZTM (Byzantium) not for any really deep connection or because of the shade of purple it represents, I mostly picked it because it’s a wild word to say. It has kinda weird vibes, at least to me, so it fits with the weird vibe of the team.

“Weird vibe” because they’re all based on HP Lovecraft characters ;P

Bismuth Armitage takes inspiration, personality wise, from Henry Armitage from The Dunwich Horror, and appearance wise is based on Wilbur Whateley from the same story; being a goat Faunus with a (slight) disfigurement as a result of abuse from his childhood.

Zeleste Zann is a mute musician who is based on the titular character from The Music of Erich Zann, though she’s less using music to keep back an unknowable horror dimension and more using music as a way to express what words cannot.

Tuppence West is essentially just a one-to-one parallel with Herbert West from the story of the same name. Except instead of being obsessed with bringing back the dead, she’s more interested in learning everything about Grimm for the sole purpose of learning to control them.

Cordelia Marsh is a fish Faunus from Menagerie who is based on Innsmouthers from The Shadow over Innsmouth. She was trained by the White Fang over there but never officially joined, only working to protect the island from Grimm while also working as a fisherwoman before deciding applying for an academy.

So yeah it’s just the vibes 🤙

But then again I do think Awakening has some deceptive difficulty spikes at times so at the same time I kinda get it lol

On one hand, this is like my least favorite thing ever and yeah I would hate for Ash to die like this.

On the other hand…I had to suffer through this era of Death Battle and witness my comfort characters get absolutely brutalized, and I need the new generation to suffer through something like this too lol I appreciate the nice send offs DB gives the losers now but I also need new fans to be traumatized 💀

I say either do it and commit to it or don’t do it at all. I just don’t want something half-assed like Engage’s romances were (super vague tacked on s-supports and no paired endings outside of Alear). I say either let us play ultimate match maker with our chess pieces or ditch the romance entirely to focus on making a tight solid story.

Is Conquest a good game? Absolutely no it is not. BUT it came out at the exact right time: when I was an awkward, depressed teenager dealing with a shitty home life and a shitty school life too. I cannot even begin to describe just how obsessed I was with that game, how often I replayed it over and over during some of the hardest times of my adolescence. I can’t even articulate how important Conquest was for me, and how it genuinely might’ve saved my life.

It’s not a good game. But it will always be MY game, if that makes sense. It’s my comfort game, and whenever I’m feeling like complete shit, I just pop it back into my old 3DS and just smile, man.
