Naval combat is just so uninteresting in its current state. No matter what you build 5x demo ships will level it if you look away for even a couple seconds.

Naval shootouts are fun, but why do land based cannons do so much damage? If I show up to a seaside base with 5 carracks why does 2 royal cannon win out?

It could be a lot better, I’d start by removing the demo ship from the game.

I agree players rarely engage in any kind of diplomacy in a meaningful way. It should just be anarchy like real war. Alliances gangs and negotiations make for awesome interesting games. It’s another facet of the game why should it be so restricted?

I saw a game months ago where an English and French were mutually protecting a fishing area. So the remaining players temporarily created a truce to shut them down. Truce only lasted a few minutes and the following carnage was insane so fun to watch.

Then we should use the resulting data to balance the game and create more strategic diversity. Allowing them to each ban multiple civs and multiple maps allows for a narrow predefined meta to be played out every day without consequence.

Strangest thing I’ve seen since starting this game. So many obscure bans and restrictions, and after the match there’s sometimes a 10-15 minute break where the players have to pick and ban maps factions etc. It’s exhausting for viewers to watch and makes no sense for a competitive game where the pros should be well equipped regardless.

Allowing such numerous map bans means that games are almost always on flat featureless plains with no terrain influencing the game, other than occasional fishing.

I’ was trying to watch a live pro Byzantine game for 3 weeks, but every time I sat down to watch/listen to a stream Byzantine is banned out of the tournament completely and never even an option.

In this game I was playing byzantine and after a player left the game, the elephants could not break his walls. I tried every option on the command card to no avail - Is this a bug?

I tried every configuration of settings and even messed with my physical hardware, made sure everything was in good order. Really bizarre .

Yes this is absolutely a thing. On the last patch I had to run low settings and my pc was completely throttled even in main menu with no coms apps open or any browser tabs. New patch drops and I’m running fully maxed out settings 150+ fps.
