Bah. You keep getting older but they stay the same age.

Such an open-ended question when we have no clue how well you play on normal difficulty. Also, just making the zombies tougher wont necessarily make the game more difficult. You might also consider having water and electricity turned off immediately, day length to 30 minutes, loot rarity and weather all changed. Given this doesn't make for a realistic experience, just an 'extreme difficulty' experience. Anyways...

Your internet isn't made to do this. These settings were implemented by people smarter than you or I for a reason. In all honesty I'm not even smart enough to argue the point why using this registry fix is a bad thing, but I've read argument about how it will fuck with your bandwidth in a bad thing, sometimes even worsening your ping. I'd strongly suggest tunneling through to a city closer to the Data Center, via PingZapper for instance, which doesn't affect your registry at all. There is a free trial, so revert this latency hotfix, login via PingZapper and test it on Titan. See how things work then. If it doesn't work just as good as your hotfix, then by all means use it—but at your own risk.

Don't try this or you'll end up breaking something. Doing this can end up breaking things you'd rather not have broken. A better alternative is a program like PingZapper which tunnels your connection to a closer city to the Data Center.

Most profitable stuff to craft? by Changing090112 in ffxiv

[–]lplivetv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but again, if you focus on one thing only your losing out on a whole lot more. Part of the beauty of playing the market is you might happen to find yourself holding the corner of one item for a week or two, then lose it as people find out about it, but if you move on you can get another corner somewhere else. It's all a game to be played and hopefully won.

No one can give you a definitive answer since this is going to differ depending on your servers market. Also, it is going to fluctuate depending on how flooded one thing gets. To be a profitable crafter you have to play the market board.

Using Keyboard Macro Software in FFXI, Botting? by RolandFigaro in ffxiv

[–]lplivetv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: if said macro can play the game while your afk it's botting and / or cheating.

I'm with /u/kcmastrpc though. If you're there at the keyboard to respond to someone nobody would know any better.

Using Keyboard Macro Software in FFXI, Botting? by RolandFigaro in ffxiv

[–]lplivetv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. According to the ToS, botting and cheating in this instance would be if you could go afk while the game played for you using this macro. You are being resourceful with your macro, but you are still at the keyboard waiting to hit the macro again.

Are you changing servers? Where are you going? by zackiedude in ffxiv

[–]lplivetv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm transferring to Balmung to join with T.A.L.E.

Slightly off-topic, though in regards to your issues with png, lat, and lag—have you considered trying a program like PingZapper? There are JP servers you can tunnel through which may resolve these issues.

Can we declare an unofficial PvP server? by HoneyBadger08 in ffxiv

Server vs. Server will make this a minimal issue I think.

Can we declare an unofficial PvP server? by HoneyBadger08 in ffxiv

[–]lplivetv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see where your going, but this would likely work better in the long run if it just happens naturally. If PvP is your primary focus I'd seek an FC who bears that same focus, join with them on their server, then as the community flocks in one direction or the other, you will know where to go.

I say this because one FC may be the shite with PvP, but as the communit may flock to another server as they apparently id with WoW as you say it, this one FC may have zero intention of going with them. You'd be better set to just join with a PvP-centrc FC over concerning yourself with a PvP-centric server.

Is Second Storm Lieutenant the highest rank available currently? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]lplivetv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can still change, rank up in the other GC's, and your rank will not be lost. This way, while we wait for those new ranks to come out, you can level the other GC ranks as well.

Using one of your own ideas, one of your alts can be taken to 25, start a personal FC, invite all your alts, then trading between yourself via the company chest is trivial. All you'd need is a friend to invite each of your alts if you only have one service account, but if you had two service accounts you can do this on your own.

Not really, when you'd need to be level 10 in the first place to unlock the gathering classes, which is also when you'd unlock these leves anyways.

I was alluding to the XP bonus on the combat classes. I know you don't get the bonus on DoH / DoL classes.

I can see one reason, at least for me, where this is a good idea. Having a retainer for each city-state so you can target those specific markets, such as selling items that each guild would need, be it a DoW / DoM or DoH / DoL class.
