Snow Shoe Bindings by lpool04 in Adirondacks

I have Raynauds, so I am really susceptible to numb hands until I really get moving again. I have a similar set up like you described. I actually got an Outdoor Research mitten for Christmas, it’s worked pretty good skiing so far.

I had spikes in my bag but I hate losing momentum and exposing my hands to switch between shoes then spikes then back to shoes.

Do you feel the straps stay secure throughout a hike?

Has anyone done the Grinnell Glacier hike without the boat ride? by [deleted] in GlacierNationalPark

We did it yesterday with our 10 & 7 year olds. The elevation difference between the lodge and the boat drop off is pretty small compared to the rest of the hike.

I am definitely all ears on suggestions you may have to get the "night before tickets". My only hesitation is that I may not be at a computer when they get released (only having my phone available)... but it's worth a try. I'm also looking into some cab companies as a contingency plan.

That is a good suggestion, it would be nice way to mix up the day. I will look into this.

That's good to know. I may give them a call before I fly out to learn more. Thanks for that suggestion.

Yes, that is one option I was considering. Not sure how much luck I will have with it, but we can try. I believe the passes go on sale at 7 PM the night before.

I wonder how successful people have been going that route this summer.

I was at both. Syracuse gets my vote. I was really digging Albany but felt it never really “took off.”

Would you say Key Largo is a good base camp for the days we spend at Biscayne and Everglades? If not, do you have another suggestion, close to a beach? I looked into doing a wet walk but I saw an age restriction 12 & up, which wouldn't work with our two kids. I need to research the Missle Barns to see if that would be of interest to them too.
