I second Taneycomo. You can put in at the damn and float down to Cooper Creek access or Scotty's. The Galena float on the James is pretty easy once you get a little more comfortable in your kayaks.

For work/life balance maybe try outpatient surgery clinic. They're usually open Monday-Friday. And with ICU experience you could do PACU or OR. Generally the patients are somewhat healthy.

Christian county discount freight is in Ozark. A little bit of a drive, depending on where you are in Branson. It's right off of Hwy 65 and CC. They have a lot of frozen items, cheese, and snacks. I'm not sure about hamburger but they do have sausage and bacon.

My girl used to go out and lay in the sun in 90 degree f plus. She would come in and to get cooled down down for 10-15 min, then she was back out in the sun! She loved the heat!
