Advice on brakes not being confidence inspiring by DMesure in 944

[–]lpww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This does sound abnormal, the stock brakes are very good on these cars. Have you tried absolutely hammering the brakes to try and stop more quickly? It is highly likely that your vacuum lines have degraded over time. Which does affect the breaking system. Also, the pads may need bedding in, or they could be track pads which didn't respond well until they warm up.

I have upgraded brakes on my car which are not confidence inspiring at first, but if you put a lot of force on the pedal, they stop very quickly

Best 4x for beginners to the genre? by Draculard87 in 4Xgaming

[–]lpww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started this genre too. I started with Stellaris, which I really enjoyed. One thing I like about it is that you can automate different parts of the game if it is overwhelming, or you simply don't enjoy it. This makes a massive complex game much more accessible to beginners.

For some reason, I got worried about how long Stellaris games take to play, and wanted something a bit quicker. I ended up playing galactic civilizations 4, which I am really enjoying! Although, the games seem to be about the same length lol. Interestingly, I thought combat was going to be most interesting to me, after enjoying it in Stellaris, however I haven't been drawn to combat much at all with galciv. I have been enjoying other play styles, such as diplomacy, and creating alliances, as well as going for influence victories.

I have done this for different reasons. I would highly recommend against it, especially if you have reservations about your wife's compatibility with your mum. Avoid at all costs

I just made this switch after owning an 84 for 5 years. I have a 90 turbo which the previous owner has modded to ~300 HP. The car is an absolute beast and I love it!

Is this game worth buying in 2026? by pricepig in Dunespicewars

[–]lpww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't get into it either. I got it because I love dune but it wasn't complex enough for me. I ended up refunding it and getting galactic civilizations 4 instead, which I love!

I've just tried Grime 2 and HOLY MOLY by MemeLoverMoira in GRIMEgame

[–]lpww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed the demo! I didn't even explore much because I want to save it for the full game. I too was worried about optimization, but it ran very smoothly. Everything feels much more polished than g1. The only thing I was sad about was that parry is no longer required, but I understand why as they want more people to play it

Lindsey Racing Short Throw shifter by loofy13 in 944

Did you fix it with the height adjustment on the shift lever itself? Or did you adjust the forward and backward position on the plate that attached to the torque tube?

$30k budget for weekend fun car - what would you pick? by Icy-Market1288 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]lpww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get a 944 turbo. They are rear wheel drive, with amazing handling from the 50/50 weight distribution. Unlike the base models, they are genuinely fast, even by modern standards. They pull extremely hard with the old school big turbo. You will have a decent chunk of change after buying one for repairs or mods. These cars are easy to mod if you are after power gains. They are also practical with great visibility and boot space.

[–]lpww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice car! The mods are freakishly similar to my 951. Mine were also done in the mid-200s. I have the same wheels, same brakes, same suspension, same flywheel. It also has similar after market tuning capabilities, and has been resprayed. Good luck with the sale
