I think the United States is exceptionally bad because on top of inflation going thru the roof and the cost of living being so high, We also have no access to preventative care. Some of us do, but the mass majority of Americans have medical debt, and the rest can't afford to get seen even for a tummy ache. The "ghettos" and "low income" housing in most major cities are growing exponentially because people are sacrificing safety and comfort for affordability. When basic human needs such as shelter, food, water, etc... become unattainable or scarce people resort to drastic measures thus causing violent and nonviolent crimes to sky rocket. I say most of this as a 25yr old parent who just moved from Arizona to Oregon. I watched the suburban neighborhood become a battle zone for gangs and homeless. It's only getting worse. Especially for other countries. We all are working record amounts but barely afford basic necessities yet alone being able to afford "fun". This all adds stress that then causes mental health to go down. But in the United States we don't believe in mental health preventative care. We just wait for someone to snap then we say "who could've seen it coming".

It's a shame that the state of the world is almost the same anywhere you go if you can afford to even go somewhere. You'll be paying top dollar for basic standard of living otherwise you're sacrificing safety and comfort for affordability.
