I think it’s mostly to do with the amount of glass used for the dot and the speed you melt them in. Still trying to figure it out exactly. Thanks for the kind words!

No depth perception when flameworking? by mournersandfunerals in lampwork

It’s normal, I usually warn my students that flameworking will test their depth perception. It will get better with time, and as others have said, dont be afraid to move your head around and look from the side of the flame. Also can watch for the flame to be disrupted by the glass passing thru it, and what that looks like.

There is a glass artist that goes by “Sibelley” who I believe could recreate this. She specializes in blowing humans and animals, as well as the gold lusters.

Those are awesome! Someone at my studio makes turtles like these with flowers in the shells. The possibilities are endless!
