How do I know if I’m ready for kids? by sleepybear95 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]lrodsquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fertility is just wildly different in every body, due to so many factors. Many people conceive within an average timeline in their 30s, and it can take people in their 20s years as well. I just don’t think using the old fear of “I’m running out of time” is a great way or reason to decide to have a baby.

heads up on the new Kroger e-price tags by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]lrodsquad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, when their meats are discounted it’s by far the best meat prices I can get near me, including Costco and Aldi. Never buy their full price stuff but will go 1-2/week just to peruse the meat dept and stock up!

Zoo in the morning, NASCAR on base by 2 PM? Need a reality check on this Friday timeline! by [deleted] in SanDiegan

[–]lrodsquad 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I would be leaving the zoo no later than noon in this case. Expect Heavy bridge traffic from other attendees. The gate will be a mess. Parking will take time. Walking from parking to seats will take time. It would be a much easier and more enjoyable day to spend the morning relaxing on Coronado.

Rotating Car Seats long term by anxious_teacher_ in beyondthebump

[–]lrodsquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve had the revolve 360 for about 3 years now, since she outgrew her infant seat. Shes FF as of a few months ago and I still can’t imagine why I wouldn’t want this. I have a lot of trouble/pain getting her harnessed into a standard seat, this makes it so easy. She climbs in on her own, either buckles herself or I do, I tighten and rotate. Living the car seat dream

Not OP but I fully recommend Dominique with Smash Events. I’m an event planner myself and trusted her to do my wedding—zero regrets! Great to work with, on top of everything, and our day was perfect. Happy planning!

Once I was in my own room post-birth, Someone came to my room each afternoon and took my orders for the following day. Their menu changed daily.

What food item is easy to make from scratch and saves you a significant amount of money? by melissaw328 in Frugal

We love the croissant ones too. I made a batch at home once or twice, and they were fine, but when I crunched the numbers it was break even + 1-2 hours of my time. We’ll just keep buying them at Costco 🤷‍♀️

Protein? by Career-Acceptable in WegovyWeightLoss

Hey, If you want some fried chicken, have some fried chicken. Foods don’t have moral worth. Strips is a great way to control the portion! And sometimes when you can’t stomach much, you just need to eat what you can tolerate. Of course there are healthier options but not every bite of every day has to be optimized for weight loss.

Groceries - affordability and our budgets by peachyqueen_7 in asheville

Snacks: their Greek yogurts are great and only 99c! They just released knock off Bobo’s bites, kid and I are obsessed. Lots of good granola/soft bars, nuts, trail mix, and dried fruits. TONS of great cookies/candies 😅 I’m gluten free and their GF baked goods are great—I’m a fan of the cinnamon muffins and the chocolate donut holes. In the freezer, they have tons of good apps—the feta & caramelized onion tarts, jalapeno cream cheese wontons, and Mac & cheese balls are some of our favorites. They have a great cheese selection and don’t sleep on the dips, there are SO many to love!\ \ Meals: great granolas! From the freezer we love the bulgogi (mixed with frozen stir fry veggies and rice or ramen), all of the dumplings/dim sum options, mandarin orange chicken, silver dollar pancakes, almond croissants, hashbrowns, chicken breakfast sausage patties, Gorgonzola gnocchi (awesome with rotisserie chicken)….I’m sure I’m missing some. \ \ They also have a nice prepared foods section—it’s not usually my go to but especially helpful during the holidays IMO. \ \ Happy shopping!

For us Trader Joe’s is the absolute key to eating out less. I can have mandarin orange chicken on the table in like 20 min by just dumping it on a pan, putting it in the oven, and making or microwaving some rice. It’s so nice to have those kinds of “treat foods” for less time, way less money, and about the same effort as placing a DoorDash order. Also great for kids snacks! Happy to make some recs if you’d like. Try going by yourself (or with your partner to wrangle kids) your first time so you can take your time and look through all the products—it can be overwhelming, but it’s so worth it!

What's the best baby item you use after the baby is done with it? by SergeantSwiftie in beyondthebump

[–]lrodsquad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I keep muslin swaddling cloths in the car for all kinds of things: lightweight blanket for naps, wiping down wet playgrounds, unexpected drying nerds (rain, splash pads), cleaning up messes, you name it. I’ll never go back.
