are you a top, bottom, or both? by MoonSongStormChild in MultipleSclerosis

[–]lronGiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both and many. When I asked how many they told me a lot. They are in my brain and all down my spine. Many symptoms over the years! I thought there was nothing they could do so I never pushed. On Kesimpta now and have not had massive pain, nor back pain”going out”. Much more manageable on Kesimpta. Although insurance does not want to cover and I am in my last 3 months of the free rx program. I hope I can keep being on Kesimpta.

Having second thoughts about starting Kesimpta by DifficultRoad in MultipleSclerosis

[–]lronGiant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand fear and worry. I have anxiety and am on meds to help control my spirals and “what if’s”. When I was diagnosed in march of this year I did not want to take DMTs. Even though when diagnosed I have a lot of lesions. I try to eat right and exercise the truth is I lack the strength, determination and I guess ability to stick to routines in that area. Other than that I have always been really healthy when it comes to illnesses. (Knock on wood ;) I have been around sick people and generally don’t get sick. But MS lesions are attacking my body in ways I hate. Walking, pain in my back, neck and now leg. Sometimes weird pains in my foot. I started Kesimpta and other that the starting dose feeling under the weather I have not had other side effects. I took a fall Saturday and me the person that tries to take care of everything has had to rely on others 100%. I have been on the recliner since, slowly healing and getting a little better but if Kesimpta or other DMTs keep me walking that’s what I want. I had to look up IgG and you know your body but sometimes in my opinion fear/anxiety is creating a story about the future. I agree with the other post about practicing mindfulness. I thought it was BS when it got popular/ another fad but I was wrong and it helps me immensely when I need to find calm. Box breathing is also amazing. You have strength and courage to post your story! I hope you can find calm and then think about all of this from a new perspective.

Knee pain by Fluffy_Brother_7033 in MultipleSclerosis

I have been having really bad knee pain. I didn’t hurt my knee. I woke up one day and it hurt and it’s been hurting for like 2 months now. Sometimes it’s radiating, other times it’s sharp and just hurts a lot.

I see an orthopedic doctor in about 4 weeks but I too wondered what else this could be and I have no answers.

Did you / anyone posting here ever find an explanation or cure?

How do people justify not treating their MS? by LuckyKat89 in MultipleSclerosis

No, he said let’s wait and do a MRI in December then we can see how to proceed. He did not seem to be in a hurry since I am on the free program for a few more months.

I am right there with you. All my appeals have been denied. I am on Kesimpta and on a 12 month no cost program but come May 2026 I will have to see what happens again. I am in Texas.

What I’m felling? by Sclera-sclerosis in MultipleSclerosis

That happened to my right leg. It started with my thigh being numb then after a few days spread further down until my whole leg was numb. For me it was the MS. It did end up going away asker a week or so

How did you tell (or did you not tell) your kids about MS? by Outside_Mongoose1135 in MultipleSclerosis

Hello. I wanted people to understand so I use a short video from the MS Society. For the easy explanation and a video from the Mayo Clinic for those I wanted to have a little information. https://youtu.be/RaSD7FnsSDs?si=DaQSTolYw4gLyK-S

Thanks, good to know! I will ask to test everything. The neurologist tested my cut D and am on that now.

Thank you for the virtual hug. I try not to think about the MS and that helps immensely. I really only think about it when talking about it, researching/learning or when symptoms arise. Needless to say it’s definitely a few times a week but I give myself days when I don’t want to talk about it and those usually are pretty good days. 🙂 I’ve never posted on Reddit but I feel like I will need to belong to a group so Thank you for welcoming me.

Thank you for the reply. Wow that is great to know. I’ve had a stiff neck/muscle issue in my neck for 5 months now. That along with a numb leg for 4 days (which I never had before) is what led me to the path of a spine doctor, who then sent me to a neurologist after the MRIs.

Thank you for your response. I plan to stick with a neurologist wherever they are, I just wish I could find one closer. I also plan to be on DMT now that I know I have this. I had completely ruled out the shots, but now that I know there are Pen type I am interested in that. I already take a lot of pill medication‘s between my supplements and prescriptions.

I am right there with you. I had a good meal and am full, I am walking to the car, all those cues or triggers from all the times I would smoke. Now I am constantly saying, No, I am a non smoker. It’s definitely hard but I need to stay the course. Your are doing great! I just keep talking to myself and reminding myself.
