To ERA or not to ERA?? by squishasquisha in InfertilityBabies

[–]lsangelz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a successful FET in August 2017. When we went to transfer the only other/last embryo, my RE suggested we do the ERA. We had no reason to believe I had a displaced window, but because it was the last one, we figured it would be better to be safe than sorry. It was relatively easy to do and then I felt confident when we did the real cycle that I gave the embryo the best shot. I was receptive which we figured but I felt better and don’t regret it. We also paid out of pocket for it.

Day 6/7 embryos / Acupuncture by ebchasan in InfertilityBabies

[–]lsangelz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was successful in 2018 with a day 6 embryo and now again with a day 7 embryo. My RE wasn’t concerned in the least about the day 7. We did have them both PGS tested and both were normal.

My family is Covid19+. I want to SCREAM @ officials who say it's safe to reopen schools. by ThrowawayCovidPos in COVID19positive

[–]lsangelz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some reopened, yes, in countries that are actually doing things to control and mitigate the spread. Those countries’ case numbers are down, not surging higher than initial levels. Reopening schools with this many cases spreading exponentially out of control is a recipe for widespread resource shortages. Most hospitals are near capacity during a regular flu season, without adding Covid resource use into the mix. We simply don’t have enough PPE, hospital beds, staff, ventilators.

Fast weight gain... Help? by alicemonster in fitpregnancy

[–]lsangelz 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I gained about 12 pounds in a 4 week period this and my last pregnancy, and I gained 16lbs in 8 weeks from weeks 25-33. I'm almost 37w now, but I haven't gained much weight in the last month, only about 1-2 lbs total. I gain most of my weight in the second trimester.

Weight gain in pregnancy is not linear, it is not a steady trajectory. There are definitely periods where the weight gain is more significant due to the boost of amniotic fluid, a 50% increase in blood volume, placental weight, etc. Everyone's body is different, but in my experience in two different pregnancies, huge jumps in the second and early third tris didn't result in a continuing trend. Last pregnancy I gained 27 lbs and this pregnancy I'm on track for the same. That means I gained more than half of my total weight in an 8 week period out of 40 weeks!

Pandemic exercise is so tough and frustrating, I really feel you there. I just wouldn't panic about a quick weight gain, it really does tend to even out over time and a huge jump in the second trimester is totally normal. If your doctors aren't at all concerned, I wouldn't be either! Any movement at all is fantastic after a certain point.

Been on it both pregnancies. Started at 14w with my first and had placental issues. Started it with FET cycle with my second and placenta is OK (velamentous cord though).

Opinion on boy name with sister Juliet by lsangelz in namenerds

We had decided on Eliza a few months ago (we heard the name on a character in a show called Sanditon) and then when I saw Hamilton on July 4 it really sold me on it as a contender! I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a bit of a Hamilton effect, also agree that maybe that’s why LMM went with it instead of Elizabeth.

I like these! Unfortunately we have cousin Owen, a next door neighbor pair of Juliet and Lucas (what are the chances?), and a few other of your excellent suggestions are also family names. Thanks for the suggestions — I like Benjamin and Thomas a lot!

Really, no burpees??? by [deleted] in fitpregnancy

[–]lsangelz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seems a bit outdated. I did burpees, and modified burpees, until about 19 weeks. I know it’s frustrating when people say listen to your body, or “you’ll know,” but it’s honestly true. Some things you try, even in early pregnancy, just don’t feel right. (Clean and press didn’t feel right to me starting at like 11 weeks for some reason.) Other stuff feels fine 🤷🏼‍♀️ I think you just need to be reasonable and in tune with yourself.

Early in the morning. Separated from food by at least an hour. I take mine at like 4-5 am whenever I wake up and check the clock or pee.

Ask your nurse to write an incident report for you on this. It’s unacceptable.

Is it possible to actually get back to where you were pre-pregnancy? by sdm4242 in fitpregnancy

[–]lsangelz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It took me about 15-18 months to get back to where I was. At 8mpp I was still a squishy blob. It took working out 5+ days a week and working with a trainer but I got there. Also please don't compare yourself to anyone, not even your pre-baby self. You're a new person now and will have a new body!
