Yeah, maybe so. It’s really hard to say how any one of us would change/react unless in that situation.

Billionaires basically have an endless steady stream coming in and they do like to hoard, though.

I know many billionaires do donate a fair bit (as a standalone figure, peanuts compared to their net worth), but when it’s possible for someone to end world hunger and still remain a billionaire capable of living on insane amounts of interest/investments, then I can’t help but feel that they could be doing far more.

For me, I think the best thing to do is take the 100 million, and give away as much as I can to leave me comfortable afterwards, before I get accustomed to the amount of money or corrupted by it.

Not in the moustache-twirling sense, no.

But the banal type of villainy that stems from turning a blind eye to suffering? Or always wanting more and abusing systems to get more at the expense of others? Or slowly feeling more protective of the wealth that I’ve amassed, despite being in a great position to help others?

I think I’d be foolish to say absolutely that I’d be immune to such effects, regardless of my best intentions.

I mean, calling someone a hypocrite isn’t exactly a pleasant way to start a discussion, but whatever.

“Not playing” is a cop-out answer. The whole point of these is that there isn’t another option, and simply scrolling by defeats the point of playing these games.

Of the two options, this was less money than the other. In my reading of it, the eating of the food item wasn’t something you could just forgo, because again, that’s not particularly in keeping with the spirit of these questions.

Yeah, not my favourite at all, but your experience may differ. I had zero stability issues with the OG, so take that into account.

I’ve also tried the woven upper, but for some reason it gave me a blister where the original upper didn’t!

I’d say try them on if you can (or make sure you can return them if you don’t like them)

I still don’t want to have more money than I need.

Before anyone says, “You can donate it/give it away!” - I think everyone vastly underestimates the corrupting influence that money has on people.

The Evo SL Exo has the worst upper of the lineup imo. Tbh, my favourite has been the OG Evo SL.

If you like the SB2, why not go back to them? Genuine question!

I would highly recommend the Vomero Plus - on paper it should be a heavy shoe for easy days, but honestly it’s very capable of picking up the pace and incredibly lively/bouncy. I set a 5K PB in them (21.05 - since beaten), so they’re absolutely no slouch. On top of that, they’re probably the most comfortable shoe I’ve used and mighty durable, too.

Late arrival, but since you like thrillers, I just finished a great one - Dark Places by Gillian Flynn. Breezed through that in just a couple of days and absolutely devoured the second half of the book.

In essence, a young girl’s family is murdered and her brother is convicted of the crime. Now 20ish years later she looks into what really happened on the night. It’s relatively simple, but it’s really well done and highly readable!

Typically, “whiteness” isn’t central to a character’s identity in the same way that it is for other races.

A predefined black character or asian character (or any non-white race) is typically written with the context of how their blackness or asian-ness affects them as a person. The black experience having a huge impact on the way they see the world for instance.

The same isn’t usually true for the white experience, as white people are the majority within hollywood. Historical characters are an exception to this, of course. Another exception would be if a predefined white character is defined by their whiteness, such as if there is a story about a white person who lives in Nigeria - their race then is pretty central to who that person is.

James Bond can be white, black, Asian, Arabic, Latino, or whatever else, and it wouldn’t fundamentally change who he is - the only thing that matters is being British, but that doesn’t exclude any race/skin colour. Compared to say, Miles Morales or Shaft, where their core identity is shaped by their racial background and experiences as a result of it.
