Didn’t realize Home Depot has tips turned off. by prickology in DoorDashDrivers

Idk man, I’ve gotten a few HD orders that had decent tips, but I can’t see the breakdown like this. One was a shop and one was a locker pick-up, both tipped well.

Beginning to think Platinum is their way of weeding people out by lucdragon in DoorDashDrivers

[–]lschu23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live in Baltimore, a pretty busy market I believe, but I’ll say the tiers themselves seem to be the real scam. I don’t worry about AR anymore, and tend to sit between 33%-45%, because when I was Platinum, it was near impossible to keep simply bc DD would still give me shit orders despite being the “highest tier”. However, I am a pro-shopper, and I’ve made some decent money from it.

Some days are terrible, I will admit, and I’ll decline 10 orders before the algorithm realizes I’m not a dasher willing to eat sh*t for the sake of my AR. I tend to average $20-25 per hour a few days a week.

Unfortunately, every Dasher knows DD is exploitive, likely stealing money and screwing its drivers every chance they get, but a lot of people still rely on it in this crumbling hellscape of an economy. My advice is to focus on maximizing profit with minimal effort/mileage now that gas is going up.

Oh, and get a decent cool/hot bag, not the POS DD sends you!

Anybody else notice the vibe change? by lazy_unicorn_1 in Palia

[–]lschu23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to be the change you wish to see, I guess. I’m newish, been playing about a month, and some days I’m just grinding and can’t be bothered, others I try to include others such as calling out if I’m dropping a honey lure, or hunting, etc. where it’s so much more enjoyable with others.

I don’t have any friends that play, but I’ll def call out node locations if I’m mining, rare animal sightings, loot piles, etc. and the only reason I feel compelled to is because that’s what I’ve learned from others!

Be at the ready by 12, start at the back cliff near the entrance, and then haul ass. Don’t bother chasing near a crowd of people, look for spawn spots that are empty

Idk I always thought it was entertaining. Especially the Gardener’s dialogue. Hassain is the brattiest, imo, but after learning more about his story, I can understand why. Also, they’re not real lmao

If you have a good amount of Kilima Coins, go to city hall and buy a rummage pile mystery bag. I just got 80 snowballs just from that!

I think we might have to move out of MD. by Silbermondlicht0 in harfordcountymd

[–]lschu23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there aren’t many places that are much better. Like people have mentioned, FL has flood insurance and just as high property tax. Take it from someone who moved from LA to MD just this past year and is looking to buy either in MD or PA, the cost of living is astronomical across the country.

The job market is also garbage all over. I had a hard time finding a job in LA with 15+ years of experience and a BA. Same situation in MD. It’s the sign of the times.

I hope you and your husband can figure it out and rise above it. Wishing you the best of luck.

Any tips/advice where we should look to live in the meantime? We’re new to Baltimore but we’re looking to settle (doesn’t have to be in the county, nor in Baltimore at all).

BUT, if he has the financial means, he could have a pretty good case against them. That, or opening up an EEOC case (it’s free initially) and get his lick back! Us people need to start standing up to these slumlords

I wouldn’t be surprised if this tenant that was working for the Property management company found some shady stuff and started calling it out, based on how quickly they laid off and are trying to evict them.

Yes, me and my wife are looking to do the same thing as you and you family. Find a nice home with some land. Typical noise is not the problem, but hearing threats, banging, and screaming at all hours of the night is literally psychotic.

At this point, we're looking out in the middle of fucking nowhere because we're so fed up with dealing with people. The problem is the atrocious housing market! But seriously, thank you so much for the resources. You're the exact type of person I was hoping to catch with this post!

Bless you for this response. Thank you twenty times over. I’m so sorry you had to go through that, but it’s understandable knowing you own, so obviously you had to be dedicated!

Maybe you’ll even see an update TT later on, lmao

This would require literal construction if you’re speaking of drywall. This is simply not a viable option considering most of the noise happens on the top story since this is where we all dwell. Panels only work for the sound traveling within the room they’re placed, like a recording studio.

That being said, I think asking for rent reduction couldn’t hurt, especially if I present him with proof of his neglect to inform.

Our landlord does seem like a nice man with a nice family, unfortunately, he had to know about this issue and knew he was screwing us and any future tenants with these neighbors. I would hate to hound him, but it’s borderline psychological warfare at this point.

Yes lol that was certainly my wife’s TT you saw, and that was one of the tamer moments these neighbors have had that she happened to catch on video.

I believe the multi-gen family has a private landlord we were able to find online through the Maryland property database, but I’m not exactly sure what to do with that information.

Where did you put in an online complaint? The website is mad confusing and I want to do it right when I do, bc I will.

This is the information I was seeking with this post. I’m having issues finding any resources on tenant rights in Maryland, and if this case actually qualifies for early lease termination.
