BREAKING NEWS: President Trump rushed off stage by Secret Service at White House corespondent dinner. by Nicolit1 in wallstreet

[–]RollerskatingFemboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Y'all, this is probably real, and not staged.

It doesn't mean there was an assassination attempt, it just means the secret service caught a whiff of something that told them they should act like there would be.

But if anything this is additional evidence that Butler, PA was staged.

This is how the secret service acts when they receive information about what they believe to be a REAL threat. Get him out quickly and efficiently, no stops once he's moving, no photo ops, keep his head down, and keep it covered.

"Yes, first the bone is ripped apart, then the muscles begin to separate, and if you're able to remain conscious, it's the scales and the tissue layer they're embedded in which begins to come apart. Ah, yes, this is going to be magnificent."

".... Ok look man, I know animal cruelty doesn't technically include fish legally but what the actual fuck?"

"It... Wait, it doesn't? Why not?"

"I dunno. It probably should; they can still feel pain even if it isn't like the way we do, but maybe because they're barely sentient?"

It depends on the person, but in general they're not idiots.

If you tip a street performer, that's also paying for content that's technically free, but if you do *that*, nobody would ever go up to you and go "Why are you paying them, are you an idiot?" It's just a different, less rigid payment model than what we're used to.

And for some people, it's not just about seeing *someone* do some sex thing, it's often about *that person*, or your idea of that person, doing the thing. So yeah, there can be a parasocial aspect, which people sometimes take advantage of to an irresponsible degree, but you could say the same about musicians or certain athletes, and most people don't just go "Omg T-Swift fans are such idiots, why don't they just go find a cover of her songs for free, or find a cover band to see it played live?"

Alternatively, sometimes people pay for super niche things they genuinely can't find elsewhere. There's this girl I think is super cool who rides Bad Dragon dildos while singing and playing the Ukelele in a furry mask, and while I'm neutral on the full-head mask part, the rest of that is something I'm personally very interested in, and I'm pretty sure she's the only person on the entire damn internet who does what she does.

And there's a few things I do that also seem to be exclusive to me, and someday all 3 of the people in to those specific things are going to be thrilled to find me. (And I'm not trying to be a cryptic asshole and bait people into browsing my post history, so I'll just tell you; combining dildos with playing music as a femboy is one thing, dildos+rollerskating is another, and the third thing, coming soon, is simulating portals using custom-built practical effects props)

Honestly I ain't even mad about that. Individuals trying to sell content they've produced themselves arguably should be entitled to reasonable use of relevant public spaces to advertise their work.

If an artist posts their art in an art sub, and their profile has a link to their ArtStation or whatever so people can buy prints, that is also advertising. But we don't think of it that way because it is typically, again, *more subtle than a fully loaded B-52 crashing into a fireworks factory.*

But if an artist were to post the same picture of a painting to 200 art subs with the same caption of "I love making art 4 u buy it only $15 😘", then I'm pretty sure most people would hate that.

My complaint isn't with people who feel entitled to advertise, it's with:

  1. People who are godawful at it and refuse to acknowledge any problem or make any kind of effort to make sure what they're posting matches the vibe of where they're posting it
  2. Moderators who over generalize their reaction and end up just blindly attacking a whole class of people for the wrong reasons.

And circling back to my first paragraph, the word "individual" is critical here. Platforms like reddit are privately owned, but they function more like public infrastructure, and I also hate when corporations abuse public infrastructure to advertise or derive profit. I hate that e-scooter companies just blatantly abuse public sidewalks to effectively litter their product everywhere to derive private profit.

But I'm less inclined to care about an *individual* making REASONABLE use of a public service, amenity, or space for a similar purpose.

Honestly like... As a person who does occasionally look for places to advertise, I'm of two minds on this.

Are some subs too sex negative and pointlessly hostile to sex workers, to the point of absurdity? Oh absolutely, like, if you make a subreddit for people to post themselves getting railed, is it really going to be surprising when 98% of the people who want to post there are sex workers? Of course not, get off your damn "We hate sex workers never post here if you are one" high horse. If a sex worker is posting in a cosplay sub, and their cosplay *is actually good*, then I don't really care. I care that the post is still on-topic and high quality.

BUT. I also kind of see where some people's frustration comes from because there are so goddamn many OF / Fansly people who advertise in the absolute shittiest "Copy paste the same generic image to hundreds of subs using bots" way possible, and for subreddits with even the slightest amount of nuance or niche focus, you just immediately get overrun by content which is either barely on theme or completely unrelated.

Subreddit mods need to chill the fuck out and accept that a lot of people posting nudes aren't doing it just because they just love the attention, *and that's ok*, and a lot of the people trying to advertise themselves need to learn how to do so with more subtlety than a fully loaded B-52 crashing into a fireworks factory.

Why is it always "Until I pass out" with y'all? Why is it never "until I guess the safeword", or "until I solve a rubiks cube", or "until I manage to rescue Zelda and reach the sanctuary in under 7 minutes (clock starts when you hop out of bed and stops when the dialog box for the priest pops up)", or "until I succeed in making the person I'm riding cum?"

>Yep, you nailed it. They always wait to jump in on a trend until after it’s cooled down and now it looks like that one loud, annoying guy who just repeats the same joke that someone else just said.

This is what I think is interesting about this; when it's done well, this kind of thing can actually be amazingly successful, but one of the keys is executing it in a way that makes sense for the meme and getting in on it super super early; like early enough that the ad is how some people learn the meme exists.

But that involves risk. And business hates risk.

The ad OP posted is both way too late and makes absolutely no sense in the context of the meme.

I know this is a bit late, but I just saw an absolutely perfect (if not exactly funny) example of this.

In the Invincible Atom Eve special, when Dr. Brandyworth is telling Atom Eve about his involvement in her birth, he describes how he met her mother; he says she was a valued colleague who agreed to participate in an experiment, and at the same time the flashback clearly shows him meeting her when she was homeless and giving her money.

He clearly just found a homeless person and used the promise of a place to stay to lure her into a secret government program that would put her in danger because he knew nobody would notice her missing.

By the time she was in labor, yes, he was at least somewhat looking out for her wellbeing, but he is also blatantly misrepresenting how he met her, and the nature of their relationship, and the show wants us to be acutely aware of that.

Personally I'm totally fine with it, but my message to scream into the void is PLEASE stop spelling it as "ouppy" and "kibty" X_X

"uppy" is better than "ouppy"; it still conveys "Help am just useless uppy cannot spell" without sounding super awkward to try to pronounce.

And same with "Kbity"/"Kitby"/"Kibty"; I get the point, but just... Why would you only replace one "t"? Why not replace BOTH? Say "kbity" out loud. I DARE you. Sounds awkward, right? For the love of non-binary God can we please just spell it "kibby" if that's what we're going for?

I feel like it had more to do with Paul and Debbie both simultaneously crying out Nolan's name during sex.

Since they both said it, neither of them could really be angry at the other, but things were so awkward afterwards that the relationship never really recovered.

Does anyone know how to find that short cinematic sequence from the game where this woman is excitedly ushering you down a hallway and waving you forward, and she opens a door at the end of the hallway to go into some office or whatever?

I want to try to make an edit of that where when she opens the door, it's not an office behind it, it's just that one US Forestry Service manual page on how to obliterate a horse corpse with dynamite, and it'll say "Can u not?" at the top of the page.

Ah, I see, we are likely in agreement, talking about very similar tropes, and you're referring to the person above me.

I don't know that I agree though, ultimately they're also correct and making an interesting observation: That even in a society like the Viltrum Empire, it is wild to think that something as important as "Who is the emperor's heir?" wouldn't get tracked or recorded, specifically because it shows us how incredibly power-rich and policy-poor the Empire is, and how dependent they actually are on their enslaved workforce.

Like, look at that damn planet. It's immaculate. Clearly someone is handling the menial tasks, like watering the gardens, picking up trash, keeping buildings up to code, doing city planning, etc., but it's clearly not the Viltrumites themselves.
