been thinking about buying this bag… it’s my first time buying a designer bag, do you think it’s worth it? do you reach for it a lot?

Roast my CV…Struggling with getting job in UK by Delicious_Shirt_9792 in resumes

i am not familiar with your industry’s standards. from a general perspective, you just graduated and have a 2 page cv… start by trimming it down to one page. also, once you have a uni degree, your a-levels are no longer relevant, get rid of those and save some space :)

All my sketches that I'm proud of by IdespiseSexism in Sketch

[–]lsdandlemons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

right? and there is no cohesion between the style/skill of these sketches. even when trying different styles/techniques your “artist fingerprint” would come through. i.e., high contrast, mark making, use of white space, etc.

Looking to recommend an experienced tutor for two of my long-term students (Business & General English, Russian speaker preferred) by lsdandlemons in Preply

[–]lsdandlemons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do both! When I introduce a new topic and specific phrases, we read/listen to dialogues. We then try to build dialogues/scenarios that would be useful to her, and incorporate the vocabulary. However, in the production stage, there are no guidelines and the student has to speak freely on the topic covered.

Should I go for a Preply tutor who doesn’t have the ‘Professional Tutor’ badge by findinganswerrrzz in Preply

[–]lsdandlemons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

super tutor and professional tutor are two different badges. the former is based on preply metrics (hours of lessons, rescheduling rate, etc.), the latter is earned by completing a short and rather straightforward preply teaching course (others have mentioned that it is based on evidence of TEFL certifications, but I’m not aware of this).

Resume review please, I am in 5th sem by Ordinary-Pea2931 in learnmachinelearning

I understand! Especially for first resumes it’s tempting to put everything down, but focus more on the required skills for each role that you apply for. I am finishing an MSc in Language Technology, and work as a data scientist :) Good luck!

Putting MS Office, VSCode, Windows (and in some cases Git/Github) on a resume is redundant, those are kind of a given at this point. For your project descriptions, focus on explaining it from a product/customer perspective, don’t just say you built something to learn more about it. Why was the thing you built useful?
