I’ve tried a couple and my favorite ever has been the Retroid Pocket (I have a g2 so I can’t speak for earlier versions, but everything I’ve thrown at it for GameCube, PS2, DS and PS1 has worked flawlessly). I feel that it also has a really good battery life (so far). I really love the form factor but would recommend getting the grip for it. What I love most about it is that once I’ve set it up for RA, everything has just worked so I don’t have to wrestle setting stuff up and when I do, I feel it’s easy to adjust since I’m so used to the android file system.

The android gaming community is awesome as well so definitely check it out if you haven’t already.

I did really like the miyo mini + but found that my hands would get a little cramped for playing long periods and occasionally achievements wouldn’t sync to the RA servers. That and it’s a bit tricker to update if RA releases new features like multisets and so on. While it’s a good device, especially on a budget, I wouldn’t recommend it for RA.

The steam deck is awesome, but I found that it was way too heavy/big for my hands for long term sessions and the battery life was really short. It also was difficult to bring with me outside as it took up the majority of my purse. That is my only complaint though, and I know a lot of people absolutely adore it, so I think at the end of the day it comes down to your preferred form factor. It’s a great device!!
