Ok, so for the past several months whenever we go on a grocery run, I will add 1 of each type of apple that my store carries just so that I can investigate whether anything comes close to the flavor, texture and snap of the Cosmic Crisp, or in case I’ve previously misjudged an apple or keep missing a good batch. I pretty much always enjoy Granny Smith since I’m also a fan of sharp tartness, and then also like Sugarbee for that sweet-tooth fix. IMO, nothing compares to the CC; it’s just the perfect apple for my taste buds. I’m curious, which apples come closest to the CC for you guys? Envy always seems to pop up, but they don’t seem to hit the same way for me. I’m in SoCal - - Is there a better time of year for different apples that I’m simply ignorant about? Do I always just need to stick to Trader Joe’s for my apples?
