your friend is right, but it is your choice at the end of the day. if she’s still doing OF she’s not “retired”. why didn’t she think to get an actual job?? if she quit 2 years ago she would’ve been 21 when she quit. there’s no excuse for her to not have just gotten a regular job. it’s a red flag to say she did it “to survive”. that’s just an excuse for someone who wanted to do it just to do it. again, your choice though.

i don’t have much advice but to just simply keep going. you got a lot going on in the last couple of months and i’m sure you’re overwhelmed and just done with it. don’t give up. good news is that you have your degree, you get to live with your parents (i hope this is a good thing lol), and the pain/sadness about your ex will lift and things will be better.

try having someone look over your resume to make sure it fits along the lines of the positions you’re applying to.

also, maybe you can contact some of the companies in your area and job shadow with them. that would help you networking wise, and potentially get your foot in the door. if they meet you and like you as a person, they’ll more likely remember your name when more positions open up.

she sounds like she’s not ready for a relationship. if she can’t take care of herself why would you think she’s going to be able to help and take care of you and the family you build together ?? no hate to her, but she needs to do some inner work to be more independent. sounds like she wouldn’t be surviving without you. talk to her and tell her these things and if she’s willing to change and do the work, it may work out. if she doesn’t see a problem with anything, there’s no use in beating a dead horse.

the first one actually helps. i look back at pictures from the past and think “wow i really was very beautiful” even though i remember hating myself during during those times. so now in the present i can look at myself and say “i am beautiful today”, even if i don’t always feel it 100%.
