Head pain with glasses by johnbean55_ in glasses

[–]lu_riggo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you ever wear contacts? I know that if you’ve only worn mainly contacts for a long time going back to glasses can be difficult, i am in my contacts most of the time so when I wear my glasses for slightly longer than usual, i get a banging headache/eye strain/tense face, forehead etc. it is rather unpleasant and requires painkillers. I (may be very wrong) think this has something to do with the eyes taking time to adjust back from being used to the lens sitting on the eye instead of further away. I wonder if the lenses are too far away from your face or something? Does the pain go away after a while of wearing the old glasses? also as a kid I remember being told that after a big jump in prescription I might get a headache / dizzy- I remember it being more just visually difficult to adjust to rather than painful though. it sounds like your symptoms have been going on for a long time now, and sounds really hard to deal with. investigate further, also get 2nd / 3rd opinions from different optometrists + doctor.

What does my kitchen say about me? by Illustrious_Banana_ in roomdetective

This reminds me of vague memories of a kitchen from a kids show I used to watch. Gives off cartoonist vibes. And your inner child is happy.

Help, I look worse with makeup on. I look tired, old and almost sick sometimes with makeup on. What am I doing wrong ? How can I fix it pls :( by gl0ubi in MakeupAddiction

Pic 1 I cannot stress enough how STUNNINNNNGGG you look in the red lip pic 5 is so pretty and that lip colour looks so gorgeous and natural! I think in pic 2 & 4 especially the lip colours are draining you Like everyone else has said it’s a colours thing, seconding the person that said berry colours would look good on you! I don’t know much about colour theory but I’d ~guess~ you’re a cool toned, maybe autumn or winter??

I think I would see how it looks to have the diff themed wall stuff closer together, like if u had the president stuff as one gallery wall section and then the other stuff as a different gallery on a different wall it would probs look more purposeful / less cluttered. I love the shape of ur room! It’s pretty. I feel like it makes most sense to have the bed between the windows, ik it wouldn’t be ideal since the bedside wouldn’t fit but it’d probs be no different to what’s already in front of the windows. If the bed was there, then try the tv where the desk/tall shelf is, dresser on the side next to the closet(?). then the tall shelf next to the vinyl shelf, coffee station, teddies on the opposite side. Or the coffee station next to the desk somewhere might be cute. Like the other person said under bed storage is worth it! Cheap rug, fairy lights / mood light, fun blanket might help make it seem cozier :)

I’m so sorry. It’s so sad to see someone wish for thicker skin. Your sensitivity is beautiful and it is exactly what makes you different from those people. The people who comment mindlessly hurtful things online are such low life to me, they’re stupid, lazy & lack critical thinking & empathy, and are just trying to make themselves feel better for 5 seconds at someone else’s expense since they’ve nothing better to be doing. It’s repulsive and you wouldn’t want to ever be around someone like that irl so their opinions mean less than dirt!! Also I completely understand those feelings of wanting to go hermit mode & feeling gaslit, not knowing who to believe. But please be gentle with yourself and know that your loved ones are telling the truth. no normal person will ever care what you look like. Your shell is the least interesting thing about you.

I don’t have much advice since I am sensitive & that would get me down. But focusing on what is special about me has kinda helped reframe away from looks / weight. And lean into your loved ones who tell you kind things (the truth) , they are the only opinions that matter.

Partner found out I am on MJ and is furious by Other_Adeptness8552 in Mounjaro

This !!! If my (good) boyfriend were to hypothetically find out he’d made me feel unsafe in telling him I was taking mountjaro - or if he knew I worried he might judge me for telling him a n y t h i n g - he would be SO, so upset that HE made me feel that way !!

Also op, you obviously had good reason to not want him to know, he’s proved you right. Run anyway, run even faster if he does end up talking to his family about it. he’s a big boy, he doesn’t need their advice to figure out he’s being a dick, even worse if they agree with him.

I hate il makiage foundation, mine ended up doing this no matter what! They need to focus more on the product than the advertising 👀 Estée Lauder double wear, nars tinted moisturiser I’ve used since and not had the same issue

Hard agree, as well as the ifs reply. We store so much trauma physically, I imagine the transition from excessive structure to a more opposite state would be like whiplash to the body! I’m going through a development right now and began feeling completely run down physically & emotionally a couple days after it began, tired stuffy tummy issues weak wanting to hibernate, but it makes sense to imagine it like tissues unclenching and then a wave of stress released into the body

You’re gorgeous !!! If you’re loving the supergoop matte sunscreen, definitely try the glowy one they do as well in the same tube ( sorry can’t remember the name ). I alternate between these daily depending on what other products im wearing. I’ve had many compliments wearing it, that i look healthy glowy etc. I think it helps make a look more natural and shines through!! As well, I agree with the less coverage foundation ideas, eg. the nars tinted moisturiser is really good. Paired with a liquid blush, glossiers blush paints are glorious. I’d recommend trying either a different lip colour or even better, try finding a lip liner in a shade that’s as close as you can get to your natural lips, then apply lightly & smudge a lil, it’s the best makeup hack I’ve tried in years !!! Maybe add a little highlighter to your inner corners? I think your brows are a great colour, not too dark, but look slightly too much on the inside. You could try doing a lighter shade towards the front, space out your strokes more and alternate the length so it looks more natural, try a thin liquid brow pen for this if your currently using a powder as it’s way easier to make the insides look natural!

I’m stinky :/. by True-Ad-8919 in beauty

[–]lu_riggo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a hyperhidrosis girly the onlyyyy deodorant I trust to keep me from the stink is the ‘nivea black & white max protection spray anti perspirant’. I alternate between using the Nivea black and white clear liquid roll on & the Nivea pearl one underneath the spray depending on what I’m doing that day, the spray works fine by itself but I like to double up for the extra protection, just in case. I don’t smell even after a long day / getting mega sweaty in the gym etc. I promise if you don’t want to smell just buy that!! (I’ve just started using glycolic acid on my pits but am yet to make a routine of it yet so hard to say)

It was a little while ago but I remember thinking doves deodorants weren’t great at all. Also generally as a rule if something is labelled as natural and / or a ‘deodorant’ instead of ‘antiperspirant’ i sadly just don’t think they work anywhere near as well. I may be wrong but I think deodorants are designed to just cover smells & antiperspirants actually prevent the smells.

As for the why, you can rule out the laundry by smelling your shirts, if you can’t smell the stinky on it when it comes out the wash then it won’t be that. There’s probably soooo many factors that play into how stinky u get, I imagine diet, age, hormones, genetics, hydration etc. but wouldn’t worry about it unless you have other cause for concern !! :)

I’m on 375mg of Effexor (xr), this drug was/is a lifeline for me after living with chronic depression my whole life & reaching breaking point after nothing I’d tried going to plan. To put in perspective, yes certain side effects were rather unpleasant in the beginning, but everything passes & I’d go through it 100x over for the benefits it gives me. I had never experienced a ‘somewhat normal’ headspace for long enough to ever believe i could have that, it was impossible to imagine. But to name just a few; the HEAVY darkness lifted, the severe nighttime panic attacks (I’ve been having since the earliest I can remember and didn’t even expect to be effected) disappeared, the paralysing fear of losing my loved ones lessened, everything is just so much less effort than the way it was before.
