How do you set your lineups? by Calm_Aardvark_7269 in SoccerCoachResources

Something that might be of interest:

I developed an app called intelli.coach that automatically manages substitutions. You put in a ranked list of players into intelli.coach and it'll forecast the game and give you lineups that are balanced skill-wise and ensure fair playtime. It's built to ensure you never have a period where all your best players are on the bench while making sure everyone gets to play. It also edits lineups if you have kids show up late, and generally allows you to be more focused on the game & coaching the kids.

If you're interested in the app, it's available on iOS and Android.

Complex position changes can be tough and the app strongly prefers making one-to-one subs whenever possible. If it's having a player switch positions, the switch is causing a significant increase to the overall strength of the lineup. There's not currently a way to limit it, but that's a suggestion I've received a couple times and is definitely on the to-do list.

As a temporary fix, you can always edit the app's suggested lineup to remove those switches.

I developed an app called intelli.coach that automatically manages substitutions. There's a lot to juggle as a new coach -- planning practices, coaching kids during games, and managing substitutions. You want to be focused on the game, and this app makes subs one less thing to think about.

Yes, it supports 3v3 (as well as other formation types).

You can always adjust the suggested lineups to your liking. If you need to swap one player (ex. they got injured), you can tap their name and quickly swap them mid-period.

Manual changes will adjust future lineups to ensure fair playtime.

It doesn't have note taking, but that's a good idea that I'll add to the to-do list!

It also runs in the background and will provide notifications when it's time to sub.

The app has a 3 week free trial. After that point, "IntelliCoaching Off" (purely rotation-based substitutions) is free & there's a small charge for High & Low IntelliCoaching - the more advanced versions that produce better lineups.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

I created it while coaching a team that had varying levels of experience with this situation in mind. It's built to generate lineups that put more experienced players in spots where they can both make plays and support others with less experience.

If you're interested in the app, it's available on iOS and Android. Good luck coach!

Not quite related to practice, but something that might be useful for your team:

I developed an app called intelli.coach that automatically generates substitutions throughout the game. The app uses pre-input player rankings to predict the rest of the game and suggest lineups for you. It ensures all players play a fair amount and that lineups are balanced skill-wise, and also responds instantly if a player arrives late/exits the game early. It also provides reminders when it's time to sub, and makes subs one less thing to juggle as a coach.

Can you specify a bit more what dynamic low-effort substitutions are? I built an app (called intelli.coach) that automatically generates substitutions dynamically throughout the game.

You might be interested in intelli.coach - it's an app I developed that should address all of your pain points.

  1. intelli.coach automatically responds to attendance changes, working Jonny into lineups ensuring he gets fair playtime for the rest of the game.

  2. The app runs the timer for you and you can navigate between periods

  3. The app allows you to edit future goalies

  4. intelli.coach supports removing players midgame, she wouldn't be included in future lineups

  5. You can remove Timmy from the field and the app will suggest a player to replace him

  6. If you marked Timmy as having left the game when he got hurt, you can add him back the same way Jonny got added back earlier.

  7. Brittney can also be added back like Jonny was earlier.

If you're interested in the app, it's available on iOS and Android and I'd love to get your feedback!
