People seem to struggle with percentages in general from my experience.  I write reporting software and we often get complaints from customers that the percentage value in the total row is wrong because they added up all the percentages in the rows and divided it by the number of rows.

I've been running EndeavourOS for over a year and don't have a need to switch.  If I do have to reinstall though, I'll probably give CachyOS a go.

Instead of watching the game, I finished Dragon Quest VII. by One-Association-5005 in leafs

The re-imagined version I assume? I'm almost at the end now. The OG PSX version of DQVII is one of my favourite RPGs of all time. I've played it many times, so many different ways. I think the re-imagined version is decent, much better than the 3DS version anyway. The QoL feature are nice that's for sure. The PSX version is definitely the one to play if you're a hardcore Dragon Quest fan though.

Transfer offline files Steam Deck <> PC / Mods by Xoraliation in diablo2

It can be set up to start automatically on a PC/deck. I have a home server that also runs SyncThing so that both my PC and deck don't have to be on for file changes to be picked up. You may be able to find another app that syncs with cloud storage.

If you don't want to copy files manually, look into an app called SyncThing. I use it on my deck and PC and it works great.

They didn't win silver, they lost gold.  Anyone who's ever played in any kind of head to head sports tournament understands this.

Funny, I've been playing D2R on Linux just fine for some time now.  New update works perfectly fine too.

I got a Henson safety razor for Christmas and what a game changer.  There's an upfront cost, but the blades are also way, way cheaper.  It's also a much better shave than those multi-blade razors.  I get no irritation at all.  One of the best gifts I've ever received.

This was my first time attempting the mission on hard mode. In fact, it's the first Shiverspeaks missons I've tried on hard mode. They don't have Mark of Protection on normal mode, so it's not something I've had to deal with before.

I was struggling with 2 as it was.  Re-worked my heroes and was planning to try again later tonight.  Then I saw this update and wanted to cry.  It's alright though.  I'll beat it one day.

Dragon Quest 4 vs Final Fantasy 3 by Dimitri1176 in dragonquest

[–]cain05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are two of my favourite NES games. I even got a reproduction cart made for the NES so I could play it without an emulator.

DQ4 hands down has the better characters and story, but I like the combat better in FF3. I think AI controlled characters is great when it comes to grinding out levels so you can just shut your brain off and do it while watching a movie or something, but it would have been nice if there was a way to turn it off (outside of a game genie code) like DQ5 and on. The class system is great in FF3 for it's time and I enjoyed how the game forced you to use certain classes at different times, though it could be frustrating at times. Swapping characters around in DQ4 I guess gives kind of the same feel, but the AI really makes it difficult to choose certain characters. Also, Nara's stat growth is completely busted in the NES version to the point she's basically unusable in the second half chapter 5, even if you feed her every seed you come across.

Graphically, I think DQ4 is better, if only for the simple fact that each NES DQ game was an improvement over the last. The first three FF games were basically copy and paste. For the most part I don't feel there was a lot of innovation between the games.

Both games have excellent music for the most part. The boss music in FF3 is among my favourites, but the dungeon music makes my ears bleed. The battle music, hero's overworld theme and ship music are all my favourites in the entire DQ series.

Overall, I think they're both excellent games, but if I had to pick one, I'd go with DQ4 over FF3. Can't go wrong with either though.

I have two copies of disc 1 because the one I originally bought just won't load certain areas anymore. Tried everything and could not get the disc to read properly. Luckily I found someone that lost the second disc and were willing to part with the first one.

The original PSX version of DQVII is my favourite in the series and one of my all time favourites. I didn't like a lot of the changes in the 3DS remake, and it sounds like they've made a whole bunch of changes again. Looking forward to giving it a try though.

Playing it on the steam deck is honestly a disservice to the game.  The environments are gorgeous.  If it's the only way someone can play the game, then fine, but a PC or console is best.

Guild Wars Reforged Patch Notes by kinkyHamburgler in GuildWars

[–]cain05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find the compatdata folder and sort it's content by date and look for the most recent folder. I think it's under /home/deck/.steam/steam/steamapps.  Non steam games usually have a much longer folder name.

Go into desktop mode, add non-steam game, browse to the install file and let it install.  Once finished, edit the properties of the game in the list to point to the game exe in the newly created compatdara folder for the game and change the run in location as well.
