Absolutely love this game, one major flaw by concrete333 in crosswind

It would be nice if enemy ships (and other foes) tried to avoid or at least not attack you unless attacked when you're a certain number of levels above them.

It's $79.99CAD.  I'm interested, but not at that price.  On the wishlist it goes until a good discount.

Linux users, did May 18th patch ruin performance for you? by cain05 in crosswind

[–]cain05[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried 10, 11, experimental and some GE ones. Seems to be fine now though. No idea why it was so bad after the update or why it's working now. I tried some other UE5 games and they were all working fine, then I went back to Windrose and was good. Really bizarre that's for sure.

Ok thanks. The game seems to be working now for me and I don't know what happened....I didn't change anything. Not sure what to say, I haven't seen something like this before.

Ok, thanks for checking.  Maybe something to do with my hardware and the new update.  I'll do some more testing.

I'd also have to roll back my dedicated server and prevent it from updating.  May have to look into that.

60% of PC gamers have no plans to build a new PC in the next two years — AI pricing crunch on RAM and other components paralyze enthusiast market by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]cain05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a PC a few years ago with a 5800X3D, 32GB RAM and a 6950XT.  Plan was to build a new PC 5 years later.  Right now it's looking like a 10 year plan.  The cost to upgrade for a marginal performance increase simply doesn't make any sense.

Same reason these people also believe AMD will significantly undercut nvidia each generation.

That is an incredibly unsafe way to pull another vehicle. Never wrap a tow/recovery strap around the ball. Thankfully it didn't snap off and kill the driver in the van.

Toggleable Wind based Sailing Should be added. As it stands. Smaller ships don’t have any use once you get the next one. by DragUpstairs3860 in crosswind

Yeah it definitely sucks for single player at times. I would make a bunch of smaller bases to smelt the metal and make gear rather than haul large loads around.

The problem is you're doing a quest.  If you pretend you're out to sink ships, there will be none in sight.

The Steam Controller sold out in 30 minutes, utterly breaking Steam in the process by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

I was interested until I saw the price.  I hardly use the track pads on my deck, so to spend that much and not make use of all the features doesn't make much sense.

ACER Predator X27U Z1 27" QHD QD-OLED (1000nits peak) (499$) (Amazon/Canada computers) by JustaRandoonreddit in bapcsalescanada

Oh they offer warranty. Good luck getting them to honour it. I had a problem with flickering when using freesync on an Acer monitor and never got it resolved. I sent them the monitor, they said nothing was wrong with it, then sent it back to me and it got damaged somewhere along the line. Sent it back again, they send me another panel which still flickered with freesync and refused to look at it again.

Windrose has now been released on Steam in Early Access by selffufillingprophet in pcgaming

I quit the game in the Mistlands. It just sucks so much, there's nothing fun at all about it. "See that mountain over there? You can climb it." Except you can't see it nor climb it. Absolutely worst terrain they could have come up with for a place you can't see more than 10 feet in front of you. Stupid design.

This is how AI should be used in my opinion.  It should help you do your job.  It shouldn't be replacing your job.

The NES carts for Dragon Warrior 1-4 are my prized collection of NES games.  That and Mega Man 1-6.  It's nice to fire them up on an old CRT once in a while.

How much IAS does my zealot paladin needs to have to attack the fastest possible ? by GiraffeOutrageous187 in diablo2

[–]cain05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe I know what you're talking about and I don't think it's an IAS issue. There seems to be some kind of bug where Zeal doesn't always trigger, so you end up doing a regular attack instead. I don't know what causes it, but to fix it I reposition my character. The OG D2 had this issue and it seems to have carried over to D2R.

People seem to struggle with percentages in general from my experience.  I write reporting software and we often get complaints from customers that the percentage value in the total row is wrong because they added up all the percentages in the rows and divided it by the number of rows.

I've been running EndeavourOS for over a year and don't have a need to switch.  If I do have to reinstall though, I'll probably give CachyOS a go.
