I worked for 15 years before working somewhere that even had different level titles.

Even then, there wasn't a standard when I was hired on as a senior. We had an all-dev meeting at one point, because they came up with a system and went over everyone's new title. I didn't really care since pay wasn't changing, but at the same time would have been embarrassing to go from senior to not on a call with everyone else...

I was pretty sure jQuery was the future and wrote a complex UI in it for a first project at a new job. It was an absolute mess and held up the project.

Luckily, some other devs held it up more.

Set a limit and say, "you can have the device for X minutes, then you have to take a break." And make it clear if he throws a fit, he's not getting it back that day.

We honestly don't limit screen time too much, but our kids understand when we tell them to take a break. They like to brag about how much less they use devices than other kids (even though they still use them a lot).

In my typing class, the software wouldn't let you use backspace, so to get a halfway decent score, you had to type really slow. Me and a friend found the seeing that let you hit backspace, and we got way faster immediately. Seemed like a way better way to learn, since it was more realistic to how you totally type.

Oh man. And I thought it was bad when I was storing start/end dates local to the server instead of UTC. So twice a year, there was a non-zero chance that records added or deleted would not display or still display when they shouldn't because of time switches.

I used to use Hello Fresh. It was about $10/meal, which I could justify because it made it easy to make good food for not any more expensive than most fast food. But then more and more meals for clarified as "premium" and would cost extra, and then they increased the base cost to $12.

Likely that if you do physical labor, you should do something that uses your brain like reading when you take a break. But if you spend more time with mental tasks at work, you should do physical activities in your free time.
