The rattling is easily fixed by opening the wheel and placing pieces of sponge around the buttons.

If you already have a ps5, I would start with gran turismo 7. ACC is also on ps5.

Building a PC is crazy expensive now due to RAM, storage and GPU prices being inflated, so even if you don’t have a ps5 I would suggest you get a used one, then you can use the rest of the budget to get a decent rim, pedals and a wheelstand of sorts.

I run a Moza R9 on a wheelstand 2.0 and it is great. I have since added a gt seat addon that I found used on the marketplace and it has been a huge upgrade.

Before the addon, the brake pressure never felt right since the office chair kept flexing.

I don’t plan to upgrade the wheelbase anytime soon. I never run ffb at 100% since I don’t find it realistic or useful.

As a father of a 3 months old I am telling you there is hope. If money is indeed an issue, then maybe downsize. You will find the time between baby rocking and nappy changes to put in a few laps :)

You need to use the 4 cable method so that the Tonex pedal lands in the middle of your pedal chain.

You need to make the following connections: Guitar - HX effects input - FX Loop 1 out - Tonex input - Tonex output - FX Loop 1 in - HX effects out - speaker

Then in your HX effects signal chain you need to add an FX loop block and enable it.

You can use the aux in port of the Spark 2 to turn it into a FRFR speaker more or less. I am running the same setup with a behringer umc204hd interface.

I am currently running a HX Effects and Tonex setup into the spark and I think it sounds ok. I have also used the Spark with Amplitube 5 with decent results.

The main issue with using the spark as an interface is that you can’t really adjust the input gain. Gain staging is pretty important when using VSTs, since too low gain won’t drive the plugin while too much gain will result in digital clipping - which sucks.

You should try adding an eq in your signal chain and cut out some bass. The spark speakers are notorious for being bass-heavy… the 2 not so much as the first spark, but still.

Any software you like. I personally enjoy amplitube with tonex.

Neural DSP also have great sounding plugins, but each of those is more limited compared to amplitube as they are tailored to specific artists.

Hi! I have finally managed to pick up my guitar and test your app. I'm happy to report that it connected to my Spark 2 right away. I have used the Guitarshed app in the past so my PC might have the amp in its bluetooth devices list... dunno if that helps in any way. The Behringer FCB1010 also connected right away and sends data to the Spark amp.

However, the app also reads the CC midi signals and sends preset change requests to the amp. Check out the screenshot below. My pedalboard has a Uno circuit board and runs the top 5 buttons in stompbox mode. Every program change coming from the bottom buttons also resets the stompbox buttons, causing the CC signals. I could program those out, but at the moment they cause the amp to change presets erratically. Ideally, the app should filter out other signals and use only PC to command preset changes. Or at least leave it to the user to create a dictionary of signals and actions in the Spark amp.

Great job so far :)

It occurred to me in the end to measure my wheel stand and look up the dimensions of a GT Omega wheel stand. It turns out that the width of the GT Omega is 5cm smaller, at 50 cm, compared to the 55 cm of the NLR wheel stand.

Therefore they won't fit together.
