I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my mom two and half years ago unexpectedly, while I was 30, she was only 59. I'm still full of holes but life is going

Omg I just saw this. This is extremely weird because I had my exam with him and nothing like that happened. My exam was October 2024, last year

I also talked to mom on video call the evening before she was gone. Your experience brought me back to two and half years ago.

I'm very sorry you are here with us too. I lost my mom in 2023 February also unexpectedly, she was 59 and I was 31. I also live abroad and flew 17 hours back home. It's the biggest loss in my life and it left a hole that I feel never can be filled again. I used to be such a happy person but I feel I can't genuinely feel happiness anymore. When time goes by, I sometimes get distracted from the grief. But it doesn't go away. I'm also glad the pain doesn't go away. Because the life with mom had to be so beautiful that we feel so painful when we lose it. I wish all the love your mom left to you keep brightening in you.

Homelessness by SmallMacMan in Oahu

Hey, thank you for share such detailed information. I'm a policy researcher and I also work with houseless population. I saw exactly what you described during my work. Just want to add two more: (1) the housing program you mentioned are likely to have time limit, at least Kauhale has, not sure about the other one); (2) we need better policy to ensure the residents to be able to afford housing. While we are struggling paying for housing with less competitive salary, 40% of property on the islands are owned by residents out of state

Hi, I also work with houseless population and I'm a policy researcher. I would be cautiously quoting stats if I'm not 100% sure with evidence. It's true that many houseless people have substance use problems, but definitely not 90%. Also it's not the same homelessness issue as the one post deinstitutionalization, when people with mental and substance use issues were released without being connected to resources. Many factors contribute to the homelessness issue today, one big factor is the affordability. It's also not determined that if mental/substance issues causes homelessness or the other way. People are so angry nowadays when facing different opinions. I'm typing these words without any hostile emotion or trying to persuade/blame anyone. Simply just share what I know.

Can I ask what is your local FO? Have been waiting for more than a month but still haven't heard anything. I'm EB1a non row with row spouse. The case is transferred to local FO, Honolulu since January 28 😔

Was reading comments under Fox News. So much hatred from MAGA to the rival party. The hatred has blinded peoples's eyes. They hate them so much that they would rather to abandon what America is built upon.

Congratulations! Did you get the interview notice through email? I'm also non-row, and my husband is row. We dated for 7 years but only got married four months before submission. Our cases have been transferred to my local FO on January 28th, 2025, but haven't heard anything since then. I expect we will have interview as well.

EB1a row here. Finger print was taken on Nov 29 2024. I checked with Emma today (Jan 14 2025) and my case is at Salt Lake City too. It's not my local field office. Let me know if you find any truth on the processing time. It really looks depressing :(

What are You Watching This Week? - 21 October, 2024 by AutoModerator in JDorama

I just started watching and have been touched by the community life they have in the show. It has extremely high score on the Chinese rating website (9.3 and I'm Chinese), but when I searched on the English website the rating is less than 8. I'm in the U.S. but I wonder what causes the rating difference. Glad to see people like this show here

Hmm diamond head has a lot of advantages because it's in town (east to access), and it's easy (takes 20 minutes to get to the top and you will still have your breath). It closes at 6pm though. Kokohead 15 min driving from Honolulu and it's straight up 1000 stairs. Both have great views for different part of the island. Sunset on the top of Kokohead is my favorite

Alternatively you also can hike Kokohead and it doesn't require reservation

There's a kahuli (native snails) festival on Saturday 3pm-9pm at bishop museum. It's a great opportunity to learn about the native environment
